Applications Project Manager – Tissue & Towel (North America)

The Applications Project Manager is a technical and market expert in the Tissue & Towel (T&T) industry, supporting commercial sales teams across the U.S. and Canada. This role partners closely with sales to grow existing business, identify new opportunities, and deliver technical solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales to drive growth by identifying new opportunities, supporting audits, recommending products, and leading successful customer trials (30%)
  • Provide on-site technical support, troubleshoot customer applications, and sustain long-term business through best practices (20%)
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to develop and launch new products, including validation across technical, financial, and regulatory requirements (25%)
  • Train sales teams and customers through technical education, materials, and safety guidance (15%)
  • Manage project reporting, documentation, and communications (10%)
  • Lead and coordinate projects end-to-end (planning, resourcing, execution, and performance monitoring), ensuring quality, timelines, and cost targets are met

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (or 10+ years of relevant experience)
  • 10+ years in the T&T or related industry
  • Strong expertise in specialty chemical applications (coatings, release, softeners)
  • Proven project management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience influencing customers and supporting value-based sales
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and drive business results

Preferred Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of T&T operations, products, and market dynamics
  • Experience with new product commercialization and portfolio growth
  • Familiarity with digital solutions in T&T
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools

Additional Details

  • Travel: ~50% across North America
  • Work environment: Mix of customer site visits (industrial settings) and remote work
  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and use required safety equipment
