Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

We launched a new ad-supported tier in November 2022 and are building an in-house world-class ad tech ecosystem to offer our members more choices in consuming their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach deeply engaged audiences.

The Ads Measurement team builds the foundation for measuring advertising effectiveness in a trustworthy manner at Netflix. Our mission is to provide advertising results for advertisers in a transparent and privacy-compliant manner— while setting a high bar for the validity of the advertiser-facing products that we provide. As the Netflix Ads platform continues to scale, the accuracy and consistency of what advertisers see from our measurement solutions are central to the product experience.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you’ll design metrics, generate insights by scoping and executing deep dive analysis, and provide recommendations from a rigorous evaluation of advertiser measurement experiments. The ideal candidate for this role will excel at collaborating with partners across our business, using data to help inform product decisions within the measurement space and beyond. They will also be a thought leader in the advertising analytics domain, capable of transforming complex metrics and data science outputs into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reporting for internal measurement products and external measurement integrations.

  • Analyze and interpret data to understand and provide recommendations for the effectiveness of advertiser measurement.

  • Spearhead the creation of metrics that provide insight and help with decision-making for cross-functional teams.

  • Identify opportunities and create solutions to automate and scale ad hoc requests.

  • Develop high-impact visualizations and analyses to build visibility into the health of our ad platform and lead efforts to scale reporting through automation.

  • Proactively identify gaps and opportunities for innovation in analytics engineering, and drive initiatives to address them.

  • Experiment with and evaluate new technologies, including Generative AI solutions, to improve analytics, reporting, and data accessibility.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in SQL, at least one programming language (e.g. Python), and visualization.

  • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL frameworks, and analytics tools.

  • A strong communicator with the ability to build meaningful stakeholder relationships.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to thrive with minimal oversight.

  • Prior experience in ad tech, streaming, or technology product companies is a plus.
