About the opportunity

In this role, you will work closely with the sales and support organisation at QIAGEN to deliver onsite and remote support to HID and forensic customers in the EMEA region. The Field Application Specialist (FAS) team are key to removing technical objections during the pre-sales process through delivery of demonstrations, product evaluation trainings and technical consultation with HID and forensic laboratory stakeholders. They also provide ongoing after-sales support including troubleshooting, technical guidance and delivery of validation services in accordance with international and regional guidelines.

Your tasks

  • Plan and perform internal validation studies and subsequently report validation data to aid faster implementation of QIAGEN solutions.

  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements and methodologies for the processing of forensic samples as well as maintain a firm understanding of the traditional STR workflow used in labs currently around the world. Of particular importance is the understanding of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and the benefits this technology can bring to the field.

  • Focus on customer satisfaction and provide expertise and ongoing consultative support to end users, advising them on which products, techniques and resources they can use to improve their laboratory processes and success rates with the ultimate aim to position QIAGEN as a key partner for HID laboratories and subsequently drive market adoption of QIAGEN technologies and assays within the market.

  • Work closely with HID Sales Specialists to plan and deliver on sales activities with a focus on meeting and exceeding the regional sales targets and assigned business objectives.

  • Daily use of Salesforce.com CRM system to log, track and monitor customer support events and contact.

Your profile

  • University degree (ideally PhD or Masters) in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven laboratory experience of forensic/ HID workflows.

  • Proven experience with relevant products such as QIAGEN HID portfolio and NGS technologies.

  • Experience in validation of laboratory (workflows, assays and instrumentation) in accordance to ENFSI/SWGDAM guidelines to ISO17025 standard.

  • Fluent in English and German, written and spoken.

  • Willingness and availability to travel internationally across the EMEA region with up to 80% of time spent in the field. Location close to an international airport is essential.
