Job Description

As a Risk Management Specialist, you will protect the business by managing risk operations, handling audits, and navigating complex loan reviews. Working closely with branch personnel, borrowers, corporate partners, and external vendors, you will play a critical role in resolving investor and agency inquiries while safeguarding our financial position.

What you will do:

  • Manage and resolve investor and agency audit appeals, including Early Payment Default (EPD) audits, post-purchase reviews, indemnification requests, make-whole demands, and repurchases.

  • Handle self-reporting obligations to investors, agencies, and servicers.

  • Analyze complex loan defects and determine the appropriate corrective actions.

  • Keep the Risk Position Database accurate, updated, and properly reserved.

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Risk Management and the Legal Department on regulatory compliance audits, investigations, and litigation support alongside outside counsel.

  • Partner with the Suspense Clearing and Shipping/Collateral departments to resolve pre- and post-purchase issues.

  • Proven background in research, problem-solving, and managing professional relationships across internal and external teams.

  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
