About the Role:

At H&R Block, the Local Marketing Strategist supports the development and execution of local marketing programs that drive customer acquisition, engagement, and brand presence across company-owned and franchise locations. 

This role helps bring national marketing strategies to life at the local level, partnering across Marketing, Retail, Franchise, Operations, and Analytics to support successful market activation. The Local Marketing Strategist coordinates local marketing initiatives, supports field teams with tools and resources, and helps identify opportunities to improve performance through localized marketing efforts. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Local Marketing this role plays an important part in executing local marketing programs that strengthen market presence, enhance customer engagement, and support business growth across the field. 

Day to day you’ll 

  • Support the execution of local marketing strategies and programs that align to Consumer Tax business objectives across company-owned and franchise locations 
  • Partner with cross-functional Marketing teams to localize and activate national and regional marketing campaigns within assigned markets
  • Coordinate field marketing programs and enablement efforts, ensuring offices have the tools, resources, and guidance needed to execute effectively
  • Support the planning and execution of local brand activations, community events, sponsorships, and grassroots marketing programs that increase brand awareness and customer engagement within key markets
  • Collaborate with Retail Operations, Franchise Leadership, and Field Teams to support the adoption and execution of local marketing initiatives
  • Manage day-to-day administration of local marketing programs, platforms, and processes that support market-level activation, community engagement, and brand visibility
  • Develop and maintain field-facing communications, toolkits, playbooks, training materials, and marketing resources to support consistent execution
  • Monitor local marketing performance and partner with Analytics and Marketing teams to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Coordinate with agencies, vendors, and external partners to support the execution of local marketing programs and initiatives
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in local marketing, field marketing, retail marketing, integrated marketing, or related marketing roles
  • Ability to travel up to 25% during peak periods to support field engagement, market visits, local events, training, and business initiatives
  • Experience supporting multi-location retail, franchise, or consumer-focused marketing programs 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build effective partnerships across a matrixed organization
  • Knowledge of local marketing principles, campaign execution, and field enablement best practices
  • Experience using data and insights to evaluate program performance and inform recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with agencies, vendors, or external partners preferred

Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit. Pay Range: $89,800.00 - $134,700.00/Yr.
