Job description

The Contract Specialist will receive requests from the Pre-Construction (PCM) and Construction Managers (CM) for contracts, work orders, and purchase orders. The role involves vetting the requests to verify they comply with the Spend & Transaction Policy, and Legal compliance, prior to preparing and submitting the contract and PO requests on behalf of the PCM/CM. This role will also support project coordination duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain contract tracking processes and policies. 
  • Develop external relationships with client contract management counterparts, client procurement and third-party personnel, as may be required. 
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports, executed documents and other documents for all projects. 
  • Oversee Service Level Agreement Compliance. 
  • Coordinate with cost management group as applicable for preparation of cost estimates, cost studies, actual job cost reviews, and budget reconciliation. 
  • Organize and maintain framework for project team processes and record keeping of electronic and physical documents. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of contracting process and contract issues, design, procurement and construction regulations and terms and conditions.
  • Ability to analyze and negotiate contract requirements and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and company objectives and approach.
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) and/or Certified Contracts Professional Manager (CCPM) preferred 

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in contract administration role in a corporate environment; Design/Construction experience, gained through work in the industry, internships, or cooperative education programs is preferred.

Preferred Certification: CCM or PMP

The salary range for this full-time role is $82,700.00-$110,300.01 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
