Job description

Cobalt Service Partners

Reports to: Regional President with dotted line into Director of Finance

Position: Southeast Regional Finance Business Partner

Location: Remote within the Southeast, based near a major hub airport (e.g., Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville). ~20–25% travel.

Cobalt Overview

Cobalt Service Partners is an Alpine Investors-backed platform acquiring access-solutions businesses: access control, video surveillance, alarm, and commercial door systems. We partner with founder-led companies, honor their legacies, sharpen operations, and grow through high-velocity M&A.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on, strategic finance leader to partner with a Regional President across four to five acquired partner companies — a roughly 50/50 blend of controllership and FP&A. You’ll flex to hands-on close and accounting transitions at more recently acquired companies and to forward-looking planning where teams are more established, driving margin, cash flow, and better decisions along the way.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the finance partner to the Regional President: monitor performance, drive margin and EBITDA expansion, and turn analysis into decisions.
  • Own budgeting, reforecasting, variance analysis, and flash reporting on Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA across the region.
  • Oversee monthly close for the partner companies (GAAP, on time), including the transition from cash to accrual accounting.
  • Own cash flow forecasting and working capital across the region.
  • Lead ERP implementation and system integrations, standardizing process across companies.
  • Maintain internal controls and compliance, and support integration and audits with the HoldCo finance team.

What You Bring

  • 7–12+ years in finance and accounting spanning both FP&A and controllership; bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Multi-entity, regional, or decentralized experience - ideally in a PE-backed or acquisitive environment - with real ownership of close, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and cash flow / working-capital fundamentals.
  • Comfortable in ERP-level, multi-entity environments, with the flexibility to learn and build process across systems (Sage Intacct a plus). Percentage-of-completion / job-costing experience is a plus.
  • A trusted partner who can lead and mentor finance staff and influence senior operators without direct authority.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary (actual offer based on experience).
  • PTO & Paid holidays.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • A dynamic, growth-oriented environment backed by a leading PE sponsor.

Our Values

Unwavering stewardship: We believe advancing founders’ legacies is a privilege. We do right by our founders, teams, and customers in good times and in bad.

Excellence in action: We hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards. We’re bold in our pursuits, don’t make excuses, and relentlessly empower each other to get the job done.

Seek and tell the truth: We are honest with ourselves and others. We do what we say we’ll do, say what needs to be said, and search for the right answer regardless of where it comes from.

Love learning: We are always learning as individuals, as a team, and as a business. We show up humble, curious, and with the courage to change our minds.

Enjoy the ride: We are fired up by our mission, love our team, and don’t take either for granted. We show up authentically, assume best intent, and try not to take ourselves too seriously.
