Job description

Position Overview

Blackmon Power, LLC, a subsidiary of Blackmon Service, Inc., serves both Carolinas as a niche, full-service Electrical and Testing Contractor.  We specialize in data centers and critical facilities, providing employees with a unique opportunity to work mainly indoors in tempered environments.  We offer and self-perform variety of electrical installation services including UPS/ATS units, generators, battery systems and other critical systems.  We also provide disposal, testing and demolition services for complete projects.

We are currently looking for an Electrician for our Electrical Division that will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures at varying levels of complexity based on experience level. This is a full-time position with benefits, some overtime may be needed.

Job Functions

  • Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to work under minimal supervision in a team-orientated environment.
  • Able to meet with inspectors, contractors, and owner representatives while maintaining a professional image.
  • Perform installation of panels, transformers, circuitry, conduit replacement, and lighting additions and repairs.
  • Perform electrical installations to support our mechanical team on changeouts and upgrades.
  • Follow client/owner procedures and site regulations.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company safety rules, operating regulations and practices, and report unsafe conditions or acts. 
  • Knowledge of running Hydraulic or Table Bender. 
  • Capable of laying out and installing conduit systems. 
  • Compile material lists for tasks to be performed.
  • Some travel required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • At least 4 years of experience with a vocational and/or electrical background
  • Completed apprenticeship program
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and able to comply with state/local building codes when installing electrical systems.
  • Experience with DC Power operation, wiring, and installation
  • Electrical experience in Data Center’s preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass background, fit for duty, and drug test(s) as required by company and customers.
  • Good written, verbal, interpersonal, and telephone communications skills.
  • Great attitude and ability to communicate intelligently when working with both customers and internal parties.
