Placement Assistant

Smoky Mountain Children's Home is a faith-based non-profit that has spent over 100 years dedicated to supporting and caring for at-risk youth. We believe our quality of care is only as good as our people. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Placement Assistant to join our team. This role is essential to assisting the Placement Coordinator with all placement needs across campus and community programs.


Position Overview

As the Placement Assistant, you will support the Placement Coordinator in managing new placements, intra-agency moves, and sub-contract referrals. You will act as a secondary contact for intake calls, maintaining precise placement records and ensuring seamless coordination for the children and families we serve.


Key Responsibilities

  • Placement Support: Function as a secondary contact for placement and referral calls, assisting with new placements and intra-agency moves for Campus and Community Resource Homes as needed.
  • Referral & Respite Coordination: Assist in coordinating sub-contract referrals from private provider agencies and support respite care placement when standard arrangements are unavailable.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Collect required documentation for the Placement Coordinator and accurately enter and maintain data across placement records and referral files.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with staff, clients, and external providers to fulfill placement needs and maintain organizational standards.
  • Support: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Placement Coordinator.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Significant experience in the field with a demonstrated high level of competence and leadership ability.
  • Core Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Personal Suitability: Must possess the physical and emotional stability required to carry out all duties.



Physical & Environmental Demands

  • Daily Activity: Work involves approximately 75% sitting, 15% walking, and 10% standing.
  • Work Setting: Approximately 95% of work hours are conducted indoors.



Schedule & Employment Type

  • Employment Type: Part-Time.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, dictated by the needs of clients and staff.



Reporting Structure

  • This position reports directly to the Placement Coordinator.
