At albo, we are looking for a high-performing Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and scale our core financial data infrastructure. You will oversee a unique hybrid environment powering critical services, including Mexico's SPEI payment system.

We seek a professional with a performance-first mindset who actively leverages AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize database workloads.

What you’ll be doing at albo:

• Multi-Engine Management: Administer and monitor our hybrid database ecosystem: SingleStoreDB, MongoDB, and MySQL (Cloud and On-premise).
• Mission-Critical Operations: Guarantee 99.99% availability and robust security for our on-premise MySQL instances driving the SPEI platform.
• Performance Tuning: Proactively identify bottlenecks, optimize complex queries, refine indexes, and manage partitioning to ensure millisecond-level latencies.
• AI Acceleration: Integrate Generative AI tools into your daily workflow to speed up log analysis, automate scripting, and simulate load scenarios.
• Scalability & Architecture: Collaborate with Backend and Data Engineering teams to design scalable data models prepared for high-volume growth.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain strict backup policies, disaster recovery plans (DRP), and access controls adhering to fintech regulations.

About you and the type of skill you'll need:

• Experience: 4+ years as a DBA in high-transaction, production environments.
• Technical Stack: Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, and distributed databases like SingleStoreDB (or similar).
• Performance Obsessed: Deep expertise in execution plans, query optimization, and hardware/resource tuning (CPU, I/O, Memory).
• AI-Powered Workflow: Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to increase efficiency, automate tasks, and write robust infrastructure scripts.
• Fintech/Banking Background: Experience handling critical financial systems or payment gateways (knowledge of SPEI regulations is a major plus).
• Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible) is highly valued.
• High Availability & DRP: Another major plus is to have expertise in advanced database replication strategies, hands-on experience with cross-site replication for Disaster Recovery (DRP) and configuring Group Replication to build highly resilient, fault-tolerant clusters.
• Spanish speaking is a must.
