The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Biomolecule Application Specialist to support our growing customer base across China.

This role will focus on pre-sales and post-sales application support for our Large Molecule portfolio. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical expertise to customers across biopharma, CDMO, CRO, academic, and research institutes—supporting workflows from upstream biodiscovery through downstream purification and chromatography processes. Acting as a trusted technical partner, you will work closely with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders across China and the wider APAC organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical expert for Biotage’s Large Molecule portfolio, providing pre- and post-sales application support across China.

  • Deliver hands-on demonstrations, workflow consultations, method development guidance, training, installation assistance, and troubleshooting both remotely and on-site.

  • Assist with chromatography media selection, column usage, and downstream purification optimisation

  • Partner closely with the local Sales team to identify, develop, and maximise Large Molecule opportunities, and contribute to strategic account development.

  • Support the integrated BioMolecule portfolio across Core/Discovery Product line , which includes products and technologies associated with various biomolecules purification and workflows, such as proteins, plasmid DNA, antibodies, AAVs etc.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bioprocess trends, chromatography technologies, and competitive landscape in China

  • Coordinate with APAC application and product teams for joint customer projects

  • Create and deliver technical content, including application notes, posters, presentations, and workflow guides (English and Chinese as required)

  • Present scientific and technical content at seminars, workshops, and conferences

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Strong understanding of protein purification, media/sorbent knowledge and chromatography principles

  • Hands-on experience in discovery lab scale purification of plasmid, antibodies, proteins.

  • Experience in application support, process development, or technical sales within biopharma or CDMO environments preferred

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical customer solutions.

  • Self-driven and resilient, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Fluent chinese (required) and business-level English (oral and written)

Travel will be frequent within China, with occasional travel to APAC and global locations (UK/US) for training and customer support as required.
