Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for senior legal professionals with substantial experience advising Fortune 500 companies, large public companies, or comparable enterprise clients across regulatory, transactional, litigation, compliance, and corporate legal matters.

This role supports an advanced AI initiative focused on developing realistic legal evaluation tasks that reflect the complexity, scale, and risk profile of major enterprises. Selected professionals will design sophisticated legal scenarios, prepare high-quality reference work, and develop detailed evaluation rubrics that capture the judgment expected from experienced corporate counsel and senior law-firm practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Legal Scenario Development

  • Design realistic legal scenarios reflecting the work of large public companies and Fortune 500 legal departments
  • Develop tasks across in-house counsel, regulatory, transactional, litigation, and corporate advisory workflows
  • Incorporate realistic business constraints, stakeholder considerations, and enterprise-level risk
  • Ensure scenarios require substantive legal reasoning and professional judgment

Regulatory & Compliance Analysis

  • Develop and review materials involving FCPA, SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, and other applicable compliance regimes
  • Create scenarios involving regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and insurance
  • Assess legal risks, compliance obligations, escalation requirements, and potential enforcement exposure
  • Develop investigations and risk-management scenarios reflecting enterprise practice

Commercial Transactions & M&A

  • Build tasks involving MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, licensing agreements, and other material commercial contracts
  • Develop legal scenarios involving major transactions and M&A due diligence
  • Evaluate contractual risk allocation, negotiation positions, and business implications
  • Incorporate privacy, intellectual property, regulatory, and operational considerations where relevant

Rubric & Reference Work Development

  • Draft model-grade reference answers and legal analyses
  • Create detailed, criterion-based rubrics reflecting senior legal judgment
  • Define what distinguishes rigorous legal analysis from superficial or incomplete responses
  • Review outputs for issue spotting, legal accuracy, commercial practicality, and risk assessment
  • Collaborate asynchronously with other legal specialists and quality-review teams

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • At least 2 years of experience as in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 or large public company
  • Alternatively, experience as a partner or senior associate at an AmLaw 100 or comparable firm representing major corporate clients
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas including M&A, securities, regulatory law, employment, intellectual property, privacy, or commercial contracting
  • Experience handling matters involving significant transaction value, regulatory complexity, or enterprise-level risk
  • Strong legal drafting, analytical reasoning, and professional judgment
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Availability to contribute at least 20 hours per week

Educational Background

  • A Juris Doctor degree is required
  • Active bar admission is required
  • Advanced training or substantial professional experience in corporate, regulatory, transactional, litigation, or compliance practice may strengthen an application
  • Senior-level experience advising large organisations or sophisticated corporate clients is highly relevant

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CLM platforms such as Ironclad, Agiloft, Icertis, or comparable systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise GRC tools and compliance-management platforms
  • Experience with ERM or COSO-aligned risk frameworks
  • Background preparing board-level legal or risk reporting
  • Experience conducting or overseeing regulated-industry investigations
  • Prior experience authoring rubrics, examinations, training materials, or structured legal assessments
  • Experience reviewing the work of other attorneys or legal professionals
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation or structured legal training-data projects

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply senior enterprise legal expertise to advanced AI evaluation work
  • Develop sophisticated scenarios grounded in Fortune 500 legal practice
  • Work across regulatory, transactional, compliance, litigation, and risk-management matters
  • Help improve how AI systems reason through complex corporate legal problems
  • Access progression opportunities into reviewer, lead, and domain-specialist responsibilities
  • Participate in flexible remote work with competitive hourly compensation

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
  • Minimum commitment of approximately 20 hours per week
  • Competitive rates between $105–$145 per hour depending on expertise and project scope
  • Paid onboarding and calibration programme prior to live project work
  • Strong contributors may progress into reviewer, lead, or domain-specialist roles with expanded responsibilities
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
  • Work may include legal scenario development, reference-answer creation, rubric authoring, output evaluation, and quality review
