Job Purpose

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to employ a consultant (Grade B) in Morocco - Casablanca to support the IBIS North Africa team with delivering projects in sustainable finance across numerous African countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, etc. amongst many others.  

The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage a wide range of tasks and work well with others. The candidate must be an effective communicator, proactive and have a strong work ethic and positive attitude.  

Responsibilities

The position will include the following: 

  • Administrative and project support e.g., supporting project managers throughout the ESDD/project processes which includes attending interviews, contributing to report preparation etc., 

  • Primary and secondary research and data analysis on E&S Due diligence, E&S monitoring, E&S management systems and various E&S research projects on topics such as human rights, environmental and sustainability, Gender, Impact, Climate Change etc; 

  • Drafting of proposals and business development material i.e., a compilation of company profiles, experience listings, collating marketing material etc;

  • Planning and supporting the logistics for project teams etc; and 

  • Attend site visits as part of project planning, project and travel safety context. 

YOU WILL HAVE EXPOSURE TO THE FOLLOWING 

  • Mentorship, training and exposure to different learning opportunities; 

  • Sustainability standards such as the IFC PS, TCFD, UNGP on Human Rights, etc. 

  • Exposure to variety of projects across different industries and regions in emerging markets (predominantly Africa & Asia); 

  • Exposure to challenging, exciting, and innovative work; 

  • Ability to work with liked minded people, who are experts within the industry. 

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail and a focus on high quality outputs; 

  • Working knowledge of Office MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.); 

  • Working knowledge of QGIS software is advantageous; 

  • Ability to analyse, and interpret, technical information, to understand and articulate the potential risks and commercial consequences and propose pragmatic, actionable recommendations; 

  • Excellent writing, researching and presentation skills; 

  • Tenacity, focus and self-learning capabilities; and 

  • The successful candidate will be based in Morocco - Casablanca.

  • Proficiency in English and French (verbal and written) is essential and the ability to speak other languages (including Arabic) is advantageous. 

RECRUITMENT PROCESS 

  • Candidates who meet the above requirements will be invited to participate in a technical interview. In the event that the candidate's interview is successful, he or she will be required to complete a 2.5-hour assessment and present it to a panel of judges. Upon receiving a positive reference check, we will issue an offer of employment to the successful candidate.
