Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, along with Python, SQL, cloud technologies, and modern data engineering frameworks to build high-performance, enterprise-grade data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend data processing applications using Java.
- Develop robust data ingestion frameworks, APIs, and microservices for large-scale data integration.
- Utilize Python for automation, scripting, and data transformation where required.
- Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing solutions.
- Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
- Design and optimize data models for analytics and reporting.
- Develop data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance data processing.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical leadership and best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience.
- Strong programming expertise in Java (Core Java, Java 8+, Collections, Multithreading).
- Good knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and data engineering tasks.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in query optimization and database performance tuning.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Good understanding of data engineering concepts.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and metadata management.
- Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms is preferred.
- Experience in the Financial Services or Banking domain is preferred.
