Role Mission

The Technical QA Associate is the gatekeeper of deployment stability. Your mission is to proactively validate software quality and manage the "readiness" of our test environments. By mastering our internal systems and streamlining test data setup, you will directly reduce deployment failure rates and enable our senior engineering leads to focus on high-level architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Release Validation
    • Functional Testing: Execute test plans to verify that new features align perfectly with the TPM’s requirements.
    • Edge Case Discovery: Use exploratory testing to find "hidden" bugs that automated tools might overlook, ensuring the system remains stable under unusual conditions.
    • Defect Lifecycle: Document issues in Jira with clear, technical detail; collaborate with developers to verify fixes and close the loop on reported bugs.
  • Technical Readiness & Data Setup
    • Environment Configuration: Take ownership of "setting the stage" for testing by manually configuring user data and system states in our admin portals.
    • Data Efficiency: Work with the engineering team to define requirements for automated "data seeders," turning repetitive manual setups into one-click scripts.
    • System Health Checks: Perform daily checks on our testing environments to ensure they are consistent and ready for the day’s work.
  • Product Advocacy
    • Fast Feedback: Provide the TPM with immediate updates on test results to help make "Go/No-Go" release decisions.
    • Process Standards: Maintain our library of test documentation and ensure the team follows the established defect-reporting workflow.
    • Automation Preparation: Participate in identifying manual scenarios that could benefit from automation and flag these for the team to prioritize.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 0–2 years in a technical or analytical role (Testing, Support, or Product-adjacent roles).
  • Technical Aptitude: * A "power-user" comfort level with complex software systems and admin tools.
    • Familiarity with (or high interest in learning) Postman, SQL, and API basics.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage data across multiple platforms like Excel and Jira.
  • Core Competencies:
    • Meticulous Attention to Detail: You take pride in finding the "needle in the haystack."
    • Logical Problem-Solving: You can trace a bug back to its source and explain the "why" behind it.
    • Analytical/Language Communication: Native-level proficiency in written and spoken English is required. You must be able to write clear, concise technical reports and communicate complex issues to the team in real-time.
