Job description

About Hipcamp

Hipcamp is the #1 app to find and book campsites, from national parks to blueberry farms. Hipcamp unifies the world’s best camping options across peaceful private spots, iconic public lands, and well-equipped campgrounds to create one app that has everywhere you want to camp. Hipcamp has grown into a community of over 7 million campers who use the app to explore all of their options in one place—tent sites, RV spots, or glamping—and find the perfect site to match their camping style. Each year, Hipcamp helps millions of campers sleep happily under the stars, boosting local economies and biodiversity along the way.

About the role
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. Applicants must be based in Australia.

In this role, you will help grow the Hipcamp Host community across Australia by identifying, prospecting, and onboarding new Hosts onto the platform. You will work with a diverse mix of prospective partners, from farmers and private landowners exploring agritourism or diversifying farm income, to established holiday parks and caravan park groups looking to increase bookings and expand their market reach.

This is a sales-focused role with a strong outbound component. You will manage a pipeline of leads and conduct outreach via phone, email, and other channels to introduce prospective Hosts to Hipcamp and guide them through onboarding. Consistent outreach is essential - this is a results-driven role that requires persistence, resilience, and confidence in building relationships and moving conversations forward.

From first conversation through to launch, you will support new Hosts through onboarding, helping them create listings, understand how Hipcamp works, and follow our best practices for success. You'll help ensure listings are complete, accurate, and well-presented so Hosts are well positioned to welcome their first bookings.

You'll work towards clear activity and conversion targets that contribute directly to Hipcamp's growth in Australia. You'll receive training and support from an experienced team as you build your sales skills, product knowledge, and confidence.

This is a remote role that requires initiative, strong time management, and the ability to stay organised while managing your own pipeline. You'll be trusted to work independently while being supported by an experienced team. The role suits someone who enjoys working towards clear goals, takes ownership of their results, and is motivated to continually improve.

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently introduce new private landowners and commercial operators to Hipcamp and support them through to going live.
  • You are comfortable making outbound calls, including cold calls, and approach conversations with confidence and professionalism.
  • You manage a high-volume pipeline in an organised and consistent way.
  • You meet or exceed your activity and quarterly performance targets.
  • You clearly explain Hipcamp's value and adapt your communication style to suit different types of prospective Hosts.
  • You guide new Hosts through onboarding with attention to detail, ensuring listings are complete, accurate, and ready to receive bookings.
  • You use Hipcamp's tools, resources, and best practices to help Hosts build successful listings.
  • You manage your time effectively while working remotely and maintain consistent momentum throughout the week.
  • You actively seek feedback, continue developing your sales skills, and contribute ideas that help improve the team's success.
  • You collaborate with teammates and share insights from conversations with prospective Hosts to help improve our products, processes, and customer experience.

What Sets You Up For Success

  • 2+ years' experience in sales, customer service, tourism, or another customer-facing role.
  • Experience working towards measurable activity or performance goals.
  • Confidence speaking with new people over the phone, including outbound calling.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of people, from farmers to commercial park operators.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple conversations and follow-ups.
  • Comfortable using basic performance metrics to prioritise your work and track progress.
  • Experience using CRM systems is an advantage, or a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment.
  • An interest in the outdoors, camping, regional Australia, or agritourism is a bonus, but not essential.
