Job description

Company Description

Mission Critical Group (MCG) an end-to-end power systems and solutions provider that accelerates time-to-power and delivers scalable, resilient infrastructure for mission critical environments. By integrating engineering, manufacturing, modular deployment, and lifecycle services under one platform, we streamline execution and bring complex projects online faster - without compromising performance. With a robust U.S. manufacturing network, MCG supports data centers, power generation, healthcare, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and industrial facilities where uptime is non-negotiable. Mission Critical Group designs, manufactures and provides value-added services for customers requiring critical power solutions. Powering a new electric world for a brighter, more secure future.

Job Description

The QA/QC Lead Inspector provides strategic leadership and absolute operational oversight for the entire facility quality inspection program. This role manages inspection scheduling, governs final structural and electrical test approvals, and serves as the ultimate objective gatekeeper ensuring every modular building complies fully with regulatory guidelines and client contracts. The QA/QC Lead Inspector is accountable for the total compliance, regulatory alignment, and external audit readiness of the facility's quality program. Operating under a dual-reporting framework, this role holds ultimate uncompromised authority to halt production or block product shipments if quality metrics, national codes, or state certification benchmarks are not met.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.

  • Team & Operations Management: Supervise the daily tasks, shift scheduling, and trade bay assignments of the entire facility quality inspection team (Techs I, II, and III).
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Manage and co-lead all customer-witnessed FAT inspections alongside the Project Manager, serving as the official signatory for final product acceptance and shipping release.
  • Regulatory & Certification Compliance: Audit work shop and yard processes to guarantee full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), AWS welding frameworks, and specific state modular building certification requirements.
  • Corporate & Local Alignment: Serve as the uncompromised liaison between the corporate QA/QC Manager and the local General Manager, balancing strict compliance mandates with plant throughput targets.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven technical competence in modular PDC construction, with a demonstrated ability to lead multi-trade teams, arbitrate compliance disputes, and interface effectively with industrial clients. Direct facility experience may be substituted for formal degree or tenure requirements.
  • Quality Management, or equivalent veteran quality experience (8+ years in heavy multi-trade fabrication, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role).
  • Deep practical understanding of industrial structural drawings, construction tolerances, and general electrical systems layout.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior history managing inspection data or coordinating quality checkpoints within an active structural fabrication plant, shipyard, or steel fabrication environment.
  • Familiarity with multi-state modular building certification frameworks, NEC codes, or basic root-cause failure analysis (RCFA).

Supervisory Requirements

  • Supervise the daily tasks, shift scheduling, and trade bay assignments of the entire facility quality inspection team (Techs I, II, and III).

Physical Requirements

  • High-density field activity co-leading complex FAT windows alongside industrial clients, balanced with administrative desk work.
  • Ability to safely navigate all indoor and outdoor production spaces across all weather conditions.
  • Comfort interfacing with high-level clients and regulatory officials under high-pressure testing environments.

Success Measures

  • 100% success and pass rate on all customer-witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Perfect audit pass records with external regulatory bodies and state modular certification boards.
  • Alignment and operational harmony between corporate compliance thresholds and local plant delivery milestones.
