Job description

Senior Account Manager | elk Marketing

At elk Marketing, we’re a fast-growing digital agency serving brands like Arc’teryx, goodr, and Built Bar with sharp, high-performance SEO, Paid Search, and Paid Social strategies. We’re looking for a highly organized, proactive Senior Account Executive (SAE) to own client relationships, drive deliverables forward, and help our internal teams do their best work.

As a Senior AE, you’ll manage 6–10 client accounts, focusing on high-priority or multi-service accounts. You’ll be the trusted advisor to your clients, proactively driving strategy forward, translating feedback into clear direction, and identifying new growth opportunities. Internally, you’ll lead by example, supporting the development of Account Executives.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role ideal for someone who’s confident managing integrated digital campaigns, has a track record of client success and retention, and enjoys mentoring others while deepening their strategic skillset.

What You'll Do

In Your First 30 Days

  • Get up to speed on elk’s client accounts, services, processes, and tools
  • Shadow client syncs and client onboarding projects to understand our approach
  • Begin managing 1–2 client accounts and reviewing deliverables for QA and alignment
  • Start supporting AEs and junior teammates through check-ins and process guidance
  • By Day 60

  • Fully own 4–6 client accounts, including high-tier or multi-service accounts
  • Lead client calls, manage cross-functional deliverables, and initiate next steps
  • Begin identifying opportunities for upsells, cross-sells, or SOW expansions
  • Join client-wide internal calls like All-hands and Team Syncs
  • By Day 90

  • Own 6–10 client accounts with confidence, including strategic oversight and relationship building
  • Act as a mentor and coach to 1–2 Account Executives
  • Collaborate with the Operations team and fellow AEs to identify and implement process improvements that enhance internal workflows and the client experience
  • Proactively identify revenue growth opportunities and support new business pitches
  • Your Day-to-Day

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for your clients, managing communication across Slack, email, and Asana
  • Collaborate with SEO and Paid Media Strategists to shape strategy, prepare for client conversations, and ensure seamless execution across service lines, acting as a strategic partner and connector between clients and internal teams
  • Oversee strategy execution, budgets, and timelines across multiple service lines
  • QA deliverables such as decks, landing pages, and creative assets for consistency and quality
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on performance data, client goals, and gaps in strategy
  • Provide guidance and feedback to Account Executives and support team growth through coaching and training
  • Lead internal and client-facing syncs, kickoff calls, and team trainings with clarity and confidence
  • You’re a Fit If You:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in Account Management or a similar client-facing role across SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, or other digital marketing channels in an agency setting
  • Are comfortable owning relationships with senior client stakeholders and managing complex accounts
  • Love mentoring and supporting others, and want to contribute to a growing team culture
  • Are proactive, strategic, and not afraid to speak up when you see an opportunity for improvement
  • Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience managing $500K+ in client revenue across multiple service lines
  • Proven ability to upsell or expand accounts based on campaign performance
  • Have designed and led internal trainings focused on sales enablement, upselling strategies, or client communication best practices
  • Experience with tools like Asana, Google Slides, Slack, and HubSpot
  • A background in or strong familiarity with eCommerce or B2B client needs
