Overview of the Role:

Our clients rely on us to fiercely protect their intellectual property. To support the company’s rapid growth, we seek a Senior Investigator for our Special Investigations Unit to lead complex investigations aimed at dismantling criminal operations worldwide. The ideal candidate has proven success in using OSINT techniques to identify threat actors and attribute their actions. The successful candidate will be able to function in a broad-based, fast-paced, high-energy environment while executing impactful investigations.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a cover letter along with their resume. This will provide you with a greater opportunity to stand out and advance in our selection process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex investigations into intellectual property infringement using advanced OSINT techniques and digital intelligence tools.
  • Gather and analyze information from online sources, including websites, social media, forums, and dark web environments.
  • Identify counterfeit, trademark, and copyright infringement operations by uncovering hidden infrastructure, networks, and key actors.
  • Perform code review, network traffic analysis, and technical investigations to understand illicit websites, applications, and devices.
  • Develop and utilize automation scripts (e.g., Python) to streamline investigative processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigative reports, criminal referrals, and actionable recommendations to support enforcement and legal action.
  • Collaborate with analysts, investigators, attorneys, law enforcement, and clients to advance investigations and achieve case objectives.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, translating complex technical information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Maintain expertise in OSINT methodologies, intellectual property law, emerging threats, and evolving technologies.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience conducting complex OSINT investigations, including high-stakes attribution investigations and threat actor identification.
  • Advanced expertise in OSINT methodologies, including social engineering, infiltration, data mining, automation, and dark web research.
  • Strong technical skills in network traffic analysis, code review, and Python (or similar) scripting for investigative automation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences and produce detailed investigative reports.
  • Experience conducting foreign-language investigations and working across international environments.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and investigative judgment, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property laws and the ability to translate legal concepts into effective investigative strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and pursuing infringers, coupled with a passion for IP protection, ethical conduct, and cross-functional collaboration.
