Job description

👋 Meet knownwell, weight-inclusive healthcare for all. Join a dynamic company that is changing the way obesity care is delivered. We offer weight management, primary care, nutrition counseling, and health coaching. Our care model combines in-clinic and virtual care to bring support to patients where and when they need it.

Backed by $50M in funding—including a $25M round led by CVS Health Ventures with support from a16z Bio + Health, Flare Capital, MassMutual, and Intermountain Ventures—we’re scaling fast and expanding access to evidence-based obesity care nationwide.

We’re looking for a Director of Product to lead product strategy and execution across knownwell’s clinical and technology platforms. You’ll work closely with clinical, operations, and engineering leadership to define what we build, why we build it, and how it connects to patient outcomes and business results. You’ll own the roadmap, lead a small but growing product team, and be a key voice in how knownwell evolves from a clinical-first startup into a technology-enabled platform company.

Location: Remote

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the product roadmap across knownwell’s clinical platform (patient-facing and care team tools) and technology products (ObesityRx™, Coverage Almanac™).

  • Translate company strategy, clinical priorities, and market dynamics into a clear, sequenced product vision.

  • Make crisp prioritization decisions and communicate the reasoning behind them across the organization.

Discovery & Customer Insight

  • Develop deep fluency in knownwell’s patient and clinician experience including where the current product falls short.

  • Build relationships with payer, employer, and health system partners to inform the roadmap for external products.

Execution & Delivery

  • Partner with engineering to define requirements, manage delivery, and hold the team accountable to shipping.

  • Establish product development practices that are lightweight enough for a fast-moving company and rigorous enough to build on.

  • Define and own product metrics; use data to evaluate what’s working and course-correct quickly.

Team & Org Development

  • Manage and develop existing product team members as the company grows.

  • Establish a product culture grounded in curiosity, evidence, and a bias toward action.

  • Serve as a trusted partner to clinical, operations, engineering, and commercial leadership.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in product management, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role

  • Background in healthcare technology strongly preferred, especially experience with clinical workflows, EMR integrations, or value-based care models is a meaningful advantage; familiarity with athenahealth APIs is a plus

  • Demonstrated success shipping complex products in resource-constrained environments

  • Experience building B2B or B2B2C products, particularly those sold to health systems, payers, or employers, is a plus

  • Consumer-facing product experience such as web, iOS, Android, funnel analysis, A/B testing

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptionally clear thinker and communicator

  • Equally comfortable in the weeds of a user story and in a board-level strategy conversation

  • Strong analytical instincts; fluent in product metrics and comfortable working with data directly

  • Fluency with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern product tooling

  • Genuine interest in the clinical and policy complexity of obesity medicine and metabolic health
