Job description

Specright is the first purpose-built, patented platform for Specification Management. Whether it's packaging, raw materials, formulas, products, or machines, Specright helps companies digitize, map, and take action across their supply chain to reduce costs, increase profitability, and drive sustainability. Specright serves customers across industries, including packaging, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, retail, industrials, and more.

Specright is looking to hire an R&D Workbench Implementation Consultant – Onboarding within our Professional Services team. This is a domain-first, delivery-focused role: you will own end-to-end onboarding for Enterprise and Mid-Market customers while also carrying a broader implementation workload: collecting requirements, designing solutions, and onboarding Specright clients onto the R&D Workbench platform across the customer lifecycle.

You have a food & beverage, CPG, or regulatory background to run configuration workshops with food scientists and R&D teams. You are comfortable leading customer engagements solo, estimating effort accurately, and producing repeatable artifacts that make fixed-fee engagements possible. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, and Engineering.

Roles & Responsibilities

Onboarding Delivery

  • Own end-to-end delivery of Enterprise and Mid-Market onboardings — kickoff, project management, configuration workshops, training, and hypercare execution.

  • Lead domain-specific configuration workshops including formula worksheets, product categories, claims libraries, and allergen rules with customer R&D and regulatory teams.

  • Act as first-line scoper on new onboarding deals: produce effort estimates using Specright's scoping rubric and flag non-standard requirements to leadership.

  • Document hours and outcomes per engagement to support development of repeatable, fixed-fee onboarding packages.

Implementation & Solution Design

  • Collect customer requirements and develop solution designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria inclusive of configuration, custom development, and data migration.

  • Work with the Solution Data Architect to define scope and deliverables for successful implementations across varying business sizes, including enterprise.

  • Consult and guide customers on best practices to support business transformation and process optimization as part of a Specright implementation.

  • Assist with data imports, quality checks, and verification of client data.

  • Perform quality assessments against requirements and acceptance criteria throughout delivery.

  • Work one-on-one with clients across industries including food & beverage, packaging, consumer goods, beauty & cosmetics, wine & spirits, automotive, and chemicals.

Team & Knowledge Development

  • Contribute to scoping templates, configuration playbooks, and onboarding documentation to build repeatable delivery assets.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical or domain experience in food & beverage R&D, regulatory affairs, or a closely related CPG/manufacturing function — sufficient to run formula and specification design sessions with food scientists.

  • Hands-on experience with Genesis, ENTR, FlavorStudio, or a comparable product development / specification platform strongly preferred.

  • Experience delivering SaaS implementations including scoping, requirements documentation, configuration, and go-live.

  • Experience developing Requirements Documentation, data mapping, process flow diagrams, and data models.

  • Comfortable running customer workshops solo and producing scope documents and effort estimates independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience in Food & Beverage, Packaging, Consumer Goods, or Supply Chain highly preferred.

  • Salesforce.com admin experience preferred.

  • Ability to present to C-level executives and cross-functional leadership.

  • Experience with SaaS hybrid or agile implementation methodology.

  • Customer-oriented with a demonstrated ability to build strong client and project team relationships.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to communicate in business terms with customers and technical terms with implementation teams.

  • Fast learner, team player, can-do attitude — highly organized and execution-oriented.

  • Strong attention to detail with high accountability to deliver on time or early.

  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing focus or quality.

  • Thrives on tackling ambiguous challenges and identifying practical solutions.

  • Eager to dive into new technology and recommend complementary tools where relevant.

We are an energetic company with an entrepreneurial, informal, versatile, intelligent, and fast-paced culture. We are a 100% remote company and promote an open and relatively flat organization with an emphasis on collaboration, sharing ideas, and information. It's more important to innovate than to worry about making mistakes.

Specright is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
