Job description

We're looking for a Director of Web & AEO to own our digital front door — our website, organic search presence, and increasingly, our visibility inside AI-powered answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews, etc.). This is a hands-on, builder role for someone who thinks like a growth marketer, operates like an engineer, and is fluent in modern AI tooling as a way of working — not just a topic they optimize for.

You'll be the single owner of how prospects and customers discover, experience, and convert on our web properties, at a company where technical credibility and trust are everything we sell.

What You'll Own

  • Website strategy & execution — architecture, performance, conversion rate optimization, and the overall roadmap for our public site and content hubs. Manage development with third party contractors.
  • SEO — technical SEO, on-page optimization, link strategy, and organic growth across core and long-tail keywords relevant to security buyers
  • AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) — structuring content, schema, and information architecture so our brand and expertise surface accurately in AI search and chat-based answer engines
  • Content-to-code velocity — using AI tools (LLMs, coding copilots, no-code/low-code platforms) to ship pages, landing experiences, and content updates faster than a traditional web team
  • Analytics & experimentation — instrumenting the site, running structured A/B tests, and reporting on pipeline/revenue impact, not just traffic
  • Cross-functional partnership — working closely with Product, Brand, Demand Gen, and Sales to make sure the site reflects where the product and category are heading
  • PPC and digital advertising operations (Google, Bing, etc.)

What Success Looks Like

  • Organic traffic, keyword rankings, and AI-answer-engine visibility grow quarter over quarter
  • Website becomes a measurable pipeline contributor, not just a brochure
  • Site velocity increases — new pages, tests, and content ship in days, not months, aided by AI-assisted workflows
  • You become the internal expert other teams turn to on where search and AI discovery are heading

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years in web, SEO, or growth marketing roles, ideally in B2B SaaS; cybersecurity or other technical/security-adjacent categories a strong plus
  • Proven track record owning organic growth and website performance end-to-end
  • Early, practical experience with AEO/GEO concepts — how content gets cited and surfaced by LLM-based answer engines — and a point of view on where this is headed
  • Fluency with modern AI tools for real work: AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code), AI content/SEO tooling, and no-code/low-code site builders
  • Comfortable working directly in a CMS and with basic HTML/CSS; you don't need to be an engineer, but you shouldn't need one for every change
  • Strong analytical chops — comfortable in GA4, Search Console, and SEO platforms (Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar), and able to tie web metrics to pipeline
  • Excellent judgment on brand and messaging for a security buyer audience: credible, precise, no fluff
  • Can manage remote teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience at an early-stage or Series A/B SaaS startup, building web/SEO functions from scratch
  • Familiarity with security/compliance buyer personas (CISOs, security engineers, IT leaders)
  • A public track record — blog, talks, or projects — showing your thinking on SEO/AEO in the AI era

Why This Role

You'll have real ownership over one of the most visible surfaces of the company, the autonomy to rebuild workflows around AI tooling rather than inherit legacy process, and a direct line to leadership on a function that's becoming more strategic — not less — as search itself gets rebuilt around AI.
