Job description

Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist II manages procurement activities for assigned commodities, suppliers, or product lines. This role is responsible for negotiating pricing and terms, resolving complex supply issues, and ensuring continuity of supply for production and operational needs. The position supports Class I and II medical device manufacturing, requiring strong supplier management, compliance awareness, and cost management. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, purchase order management, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Analyze demand requirements and collaborate with planning and operations teams to ensure material availability.
  • Resolve complex vendor issues including shortages, quality concerns, and delivery delays.
    Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, or process improvements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and participate in supplier selection and qualification processes.
    Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Procurement Specialist I staff when needed.
  • Participate in supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Typically has greater than four (4) years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
  • Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier relationships.
  • Professional certification (CPSM, CPM, APICS CPIM/CSCP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to analyze purchasing data, demand trends, and supply risks.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and procurement processes.
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support production-critical supply requirements.

$68,700β€”$90,000 USD
