About the Role
The IT Applications Engineer is a senior-level technology professional responsible for maintaining assigned business applications and ensuring their successful operation across production and non-production environments. This role partners closely with vendors, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to support application performance, troubleshoot issues, manage deployments, and drive continuous improvement.
You will have the opportunity to work with Azure cloud services, .NET applications, SQL databases, APIs, web applications, and secure file transfer technologies, including MOVEit Transfer.
What You'll Do
- Maintain assigned IT applications by coordinating with vendors, reviewing code changes, supporting releases, and ensuring application stability across all environments.
- Install, configure, and validate applications in development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Investigate, prioritize, and help resolve application defects in partnership with vendors and internal teams.
- Assist with triage and resolution of application issues reported in production or lower environments, including tickets related to application behavior, access, integrations, and configuration.
- Coordinate technical reviews, testing outcomes, deployment readiness, and support activities for externally developed applications and enhancements.
- Support internal development efforts, including code reviews, defect remediation, configuration updates, and application enhancements.
- Apply technical expertise in Azure, Windows platforms, .NET, SQL, APIs, and web applications to support application maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support secure file transfer services, including FTP, SFTP, FTPS, and MOVEit technologies.
- Work with vendors and external partners on account setup, access troubleshooting, upgrades, configuration changes, and operational support needs.
- Learn and adopt new technologies and tools as they are incorporated into the application environment.
What You'll Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of related IT experience; or six (6) years of related IT experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience deploying, testing, maintaining, and supporting software applications.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
- Experience debugging and optimizing applications for performance and reliability.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and Windows-based application platforms.
- Experience supporting .NET applications and SQL databases, including troubleshooting, configuration, and deployment.
- Understanding of web application architecture, APIs, integrations, application configuration, and environment management.
- Ability to review code changes, identify risks and defects, and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Experience investigating application issues, managing support tickets, and coordinating resolutions across technical and business teams.
- Knowledge of FTP, SFTP, FTPS, and secure file transfer concepts, with preferred experience supporting MOVEit Transfer and Automation.
- Ability to work effectively with vendors, business partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn emerging technologies and tools.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
- Relevant software engineering, cloud, architecture, security, or development certifications
