Job description

Job Description:

The Enterprise Applications Manager is a hands-on technology leader, responsible for the strategy, administration, governance, and continued evolution of NextGen Healthcare’s enterprise Salesforce platform, along with an extensive suite of integrated applications. This role requires deep, senior-level Salesforce administration experience and the ability to personally and directly lead complex platform decisions, solution designs, configurations, optimizations, and operational support, while also managing and developing a group of Salesforce administrators, embedded within a larger, collaborative team of Salesforce professionals.

The manager will help establish, maintain, and execute a multi-year Salesforce capability roadmap aligned with business priorities across Sales, Client Service, Marketing, Project Management, R&D, and other enterprise functions. This includes maximizing the value of existing Salesforce investments (Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud) while evaluating, introducing and leveraging emerging capabilities such as the Agentforce suite of products, Data 360, Event Monitoring, advanced automation, analytics, digital experiences, and myriad other platform innovations.

Working closely with business leaders, enterprise architecture, data, integration, security, and technology delivery teams, this leader will translate business objectives into scalable, secure, and supportable Salesforce solutions, while also maintaining a hands-on support. The role will provide technical and strategic direction for platform governance, release management, solution standards, data quality, integrations, adoption, and ongoing improvement.

Successful candidates will combine outstanding communication and people leadership skills with demonstrable and credible, hands-on Salesforce expertise built over a long career. The candidate should be comfortable moving between executive-level roadmap discussions, solution and architecture decisions, operational prioritization, and detailed administrative work when needed. This position is best suited for a Salesforce platform leader who can build a high-performing administration team while serving as a trusted advisor on how Salesforce, data, automation, and AI can deliver measurable business value.

  • Lead the planning, implementation, support, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of assigned enterprise applications and related technology capabilities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, strategic objectives, and process improvement opportunities, and translate those needs into application priorities and delivery plans.
  • Oversee application services across the full lifecycle, including configuration, enhancement, integration, issue resolution, upgrades, and user support.
  • Establish roadmaps, priorities, and work plans for application initiatives, operational activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure enterprise applications operate effectively, meet business requirements, and align with organizational standards for quality, security, compliance, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain governance, policies, processes, and documentation that support effective application management and service delivery.
  • Monitor application performance, service levels, and user experience, and implement improvements that increase operational efficiency, reliability, and business value.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with business leaders, IT teams, architecture, security, data partners, and external vendors to deliver and sustain effective technology solutions.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, escalations, and competing priorities related to application delivery and operational support.
  • Evaluate technology solutions and recommend improvements, enhancements, or future capabilities based on business needs and enterprise direction.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for team members, while building capabilities needed to support current and future business demands.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, business trends, and best practices to support innovation and continuous improvement within the enterprise applications function.
