Job description

We show compassion to heal minds.

About Legion Health

Legion Health is a technology-enabled psychiatry network delivering world-class outpatient mental health care while expanding access for patients through insurance.

We are seeking Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) across the United States who are passionate about evidence-based psychiatry and want the time, support, and clinical autonomy needed to provide exceptional patient care.

Our model combines the stability and support of an established clinical organization with the flexibility of remote practice. We prioritize clinician well-being and professional growth while building a collaborative culture centered on quality and patient experience.

About the Role

We are looking for clinically excellent, patient-centered PMHNPs to provide psychiatric care through telehealth. Full-time and part-time contract schedules are available. Candidates must hold active authority to practice as a PMHNP in at least one U.S. state or jurisdiction.

Benefits

Flexibility: Build a schedule that supports sustainable, high-quality clinical work.

Fully Remote: See patients from home through telehealth.

Significant Administrative Support: Focus on patient care rather than scheduling, insurance verification, billing, prior authorizations, or pharmacy coordination.

Clinical Autonomy: We hire skilled clinicians and trust them to make evidence-based decisions for patients.

Patient Acquisition: Legion works to fill your schedule, so you do not need to market a private practice.

Psychiatrist Consultation and Peer Case Review: Access experienced psychiatrists for consultation, clinical escalations, and peer learning.

Competitive, Weekly Pay: Receive market-leading compensation paid weekly.

Legal Protection: Legion provides malpractice insurance coverage.

Technical Support: Legion covers best-in-class EHR and e-prescribing tools.

Credentialing Support: We manage credentialing with commercial, ACA, and government insurance plans.

Commitment to Quality Care: Psychiatric intakes are 60 minutes and follow-ups are 30 minutes.

Responsible Prescribing: Work within rigorous, evidence-based protocols and use objective diagnostic tools to support ethical prescribing.

Community of Clinical Excellence: Join talented PMHNPs and psychiatrists trained at institutions including Vanderbilt, UT Austin, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, NYU, and UTHealth Houston.

Professional Growth: Participate in case review, peer learning, and future clinical leadership opportunities.

Licensure Coverage: Legion reimburses fees for additional state licenses requested by Legion.

Resources: Receive premium access to clinical resources such as UpToDate and Carlat.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent patient care for conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.

Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental-health history, medical history, diagnostic evaluation, and risk analysis.

Create and execute individualized treatment plans that may combine medication management and brief psychotherapy.

Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care.

Use evidence-based clinical protocols and responsible prescribing practices.

Collaborate with psychiatrists and clinical peers through consultations and case reviews.

Use technology and operational systems effectively to deliver reliable telehealth care.

Qualifications

Active, unrestricted state-issued authority to practice as a PMHNP in at least one U.S. state or jurisdiction.

Board certification as a PMHNP through the ANCC.

Active individual DEA practitioner registration.

At least one year of professional experience practicing as a PMHNP.

Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication-management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Comfort providing care remotely and using electronic health record systems.

Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate, evidence-based care.
