Job description

Readdle is a pioneering force in the personal productivity space on Apple devices, having shaped the landscape since 2007. Our mission is to empower individuals and teams with innovative technology, enhancing their efficiency and creativity. We are dedicated to crafting exceptional mobile and desktop experiences for those who aspire to achieve more.

We are looking for a Senior Manual QA Engineer (Desktop macOS) to join our PDF Expert team. You’ll help ensure the quality and reliability of a product used by millions of people, working closely with developers and the product team to test new features and improve the overall user experience.

What you'll do:

  • Own end-to-end QA for PDF Expert iOS/Mac/Web releases - plan and run release testing so every version ships on time, bug-free in covered scenarios.
  • Build and maintain test plans, test runs, and test cases in QA Sphere covering the app's key user flows, keeping them current to avoid hotfixes.
  • Drive post-release quality - monitor customer issues (Helpspot) and crashes (AppCenter), triage and close resolutions in Jira.
  • Ensure PDF Expert's key dependencies - pdfexpert.com and the checkout flow - work as expected for customers.
  • Help maintain the quality bar for AI-powered features in the app.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering across planning, grooming, and design reviews, surfacing risks early and contributing to strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes by reviewing teammates' test cases/runs and proposing improvements.

About you:

  • 2+ years of hands-on manual QA experience, ideally with native mobile/desktop apps (iOS/macOS).
  • Strong test design skills - writing clear test plans, test cases, and test runs (experience with QA Sphere or similar tools is a plus).
  • Solid grounding in QA fundamentals: functional, UI/UX, regression, and localization testing.
  • Proven experience owning release testing and sign-off before shipping to customers.
  • Practical experience with Jira (or similar) for tracking, prioritizing, and closing bugs.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to estimate testing effort accurately.
  • English at B2 level or higher, for clear collaboration with Product, Design, and Dev.

Would be a plus:

  • Experience testing subscription, checkout, or in-app purchase flows, ideally with Stripe or PayPal.
  • Familiarity with crash-reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Firebase) and customer support platforms (e.g., Helpspot).
  • Basic understanding of security and privacy testing principles.
  • Exposure to testing AI-powered features or LLM-based functionality.
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar tools for reviewing designs.
  • Experience testing the same product across multiple platforms (iOS, macOS, Web).
  • Experience reviewing or mentoring on test cases/test runs written by other QA engineers.

What you will get at Readdle:

  • Customer-centric culture. We put our users at the heart of everything we do. Every team member has the opportunity to engage directly with customers, gaining insights that shape meaningful, delightful experiences for millions worldwide.
  • Relentless growth. We’re committed to mastery in our craft. We take ownership of our work, decisions, and outcomes, and we see feedback as a catalyst for growth. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, evolve, and raise the bar.
