Job description

Business and Data Analyst

Role Purpose

The Business & Data Analyst will be responsible for building a single source of truth for organizational data by integrating financial and operational information across multiple business processes and systems. This role requires a techno-functional professional with strong understanding of finance and business processes, hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central , and strong analytics capability using tools such as Power BI, Power Query, DAX, Excel, SQL, and related reporting platforms. The individual will work across Finance, business, operations and other functions to automate data flows, improve data quality and deliver meaningful management insights through modern analytics platforms such as Microsoft Power BI. The objective is to create a reliable, scalable, and insight-driven reporting environment that supports business performance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analytics & Reporting
• Build automated reporting layers that consolidate data from ERP, Excel, operational systems, sales systems and other relevant sources.

• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, report requirements, dashboard/reporting logic and data mapping documents

• Develop data models using Power Query, DAX, SQL, and other appropriate tools to support accurate reporting and analysis.

• Develop and maintain automated dashboards, KPI scorecards, and management reports using Power BI and related tools.

• Support leadership reporting requirements through accurate and actionable analytics.

ERP & Systems Enablement
• Act as a techno-functional bridge between Finance, business users, IT, and external implementation/support partners for Microsoft Dynamics-related reporting and process improvement initiatives.

• Work with Finance, IT, and business teams to improve data availability, reporting structures, and system utilization.

• Customize, develop, and enhance reports, queries, and data extracts within Microsoft Dynamics to meet evolving business and management reporting requirements.

• Develop a strong understanding of Dynamics data structures and ensure optimal utilization of ERP data for analytics and decision-making.

• Design and maintain integrations between Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI to enable automated, reliable, and scalable reporting solutions.

• Recommend and support Microsoft Dynamics enhancements, testing, process improvements, and reporting automation initiatives.


Data Governance & Process Improvement
• Establish reporting standards, data integration layer and data validation controls.
• Improve data quality and integrity across key business processes. Identify data inconsistencies and work with process owners to correct root causes at source.

• Define common data definitions, KPI logic, report ownership, refresh frequency, validation rules, and data lineage for key management reports.

• Drive automation and reporting efficiency improvements.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, ERP Reporting, Business Intelligence, Finance Systems, or Finance Transformation.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-wide data and management reporting solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central and Power BI.
• Good understanding of finance and business processes.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders.
