Job description

Summary

As a Financial Assistant I, in the Kern National Network, you will process PCard transactions, check requisitions, purchase orders, and standing orders, and provide administrative assistance to the financial area of the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Health.

This is a part-time position,

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares and keeps financial and business transactions data up-to-date and prepares reports to ensure accurate accounting records.

  • Prepares, records, and verifies information.

  • Calculates, posts, and processes transactions and other clerical finance related support.

  • Perform routine accounting tasks.

  • Enter and process PCard transactions, check requisitions, purchase orders, and standing purchase orders.  Work with MCW and external suppliers to resolve purchasing issues.

  • Organize and prepare reimbursement expense reports.

  • Research and communicate with external suppliers to support purchasing processes.

  • Assist with ordering office supplies and materials.

  • Provide clerical support for finance area.

  • As assigned, complete forms related to MCW purchasing (contracting, event-related forms, non-salary cost transfers, etc.)

  • Maintain related accounting files.

  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

  • Knowledge of economics, accounting, mathematics, administration, English language, law, government, and human resources.

  • Work requires resource management, mathematics, problem solving, coordinating work activities, critical thinking, systems analysis, operations analysis, time management, writing, active listening, and active learning skills.

  • Speech clarity, speech recognition, finger dexterity, and wrist-finger speed while operating computers abilities required.

Qualifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education an on equivalent basis.

Minimum Required Education: High school diploma

Minimum Required Experience: 2 years of experience

Physical Requirements

Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.

Sensory Acuity

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
