The organization integrates policy reform, community organizing, data science, narrative strategy, and thought leadership to advance structural change in health care.
The Opportunity
The Associate Director for State Policy is responsible for assisting the Director of Policy and Vice President for Policy & Government Affairs in developing and carrying out Community Catalyst’s state policy agenda, ensuring alignment with federal policy priorities and partner needs.
The individual in this position will provide leadership to the policy team in identifying and capitalizing on trends in state health policy and help shape the support that Community Catalyst provides to partners across our programs and projects. The individual will need to work with colleagues across the organization, think about how various initiatives intersect, and how we coordinate and collaborate within the organization.
The individual is expected to motivate policy team colleagues and technical assistance providers to consistently provide excellent service to our external partners as well as represent the needs and goals of those partners within the organization. The individual will also need to build relationships with external partners – including state and community based organizations.

The Associate Director for State Policy may supervise junior policy staff such as Policy Associates, Policy Analysts, or seasonal interns.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a remote, office-based position performed from a home or remote workspace using standard office equipment and technology. Occasional travel may be required based on organizational needs. The role involves extended periods of sitting, regular computer use, and virtual communication. Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100,000– $120,000 based on a full-time schedule. Placement within the range is determined by role scope, relevant experience, skills, geographic considerations, and internal equity. Compensation is reviewed and approved in accordance with Community Catalyst’s compensation framework and organizational policies.
