Job description

Senior Full-Stack Builder

Location: Remote (Latin America) | Type: Full-time

About Katapult

Katapult is an AI-first engineering studio connecting senior LATAM talent with startups and companies in the US. We're not a staff-augmentation shop: every person we put in front of a client represents Katapult, co-creates product, and owns the outcome directly, with no managers or leads acting as a layer in between.

About the role

We're not looking for a developer who executes tickets. We're looking for a builder engineer: someone with full product vision, able to move across architecture, backend, frontend, mobile and UX without waiting for someone else to tell them what to do (part Full-stack Engineer, part Designer, part Product Manager).

Technical depth is the floor here, not the differentiator. What actually sets builders apart is how they orchestrate AI agents day to day (planning work, running things in parallel, reviewing output critically), the harness they leave behind so agents and humans can keep running reliably on their work, and how well they see product, market and channel as one connected system rather than isolated tickets. Excellent communication is core to this role: you'll need to articulate product decisions clearly, align with stakeholders across functions, and make your reasoning legible to both humans and the AI agents you're directing because in a role this autonomous, how well you communicate is often what determines how far your work actually scales.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build product end-to-end alongside the client: architecture, data model, integrations, and the final interface, always with an eye on where each piece fits in the bigger picture.

  • Work in lean teams, typically starting at 2-3 people and scaling as the project grows, always with direct client exposure and no manager or lead absorbing that communication on your behalf.

  • Translate ambiguous business needs into a clear, executable technical plan, and argue for the why behind your decisions, not just the what.

  • Give proactive, honest updates and know when and how to push back on scope, asking the right questions early before a technical issue becomes a trust issue with the client. Invisible work reads as no work.

  • Use AI tools (like Claude and Claude Design) as a daily speed multiplier, leaving behind the context, rules, and tests that let agents run reliably on your work going forward. Katapult covers the cost of top-tier tooling so you can work at full capacity.

  • Co-create with the client rather than simply taking orders; actively help shape product decisions, not just implement them.

What we're looking for

  • Fluent English, enough to hold product and architecture conversations directly with US-based clients. This is client-facing work, so it's non-negotiable.

  • Solid full stack experience (backend + frontend); mobile or micro-frontend experience is a plus.

  • A track record of turning fuzzy product conversations into working architecture quickly, thinking about scalability, access control, and integrations from day one.

  • Real seniority: comfortable running an engagement solo when the client needs it, with a track record that includes both wins and lessons learned.

  • Prior experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders; startup or product-consulting backgrounds are a strong fit.

  • Comfortable using AI tools as a core part of your daily workflow, including planning and reviewing agent output critically, not just running prompts.

How we work

  • Our best-performing engagements are the ones where we co-create with the client at a strategic level, not the ones where we simply execute instructions.

  • Everyone on a project shares responsibility for communicating the value Katapult brings, consistently, not just shipping quietly in the background

Work-Life Balance

  • Work from Anywhere in Latin America: Enjoy the freedom to work remotely from any country in Latin America.

  • 23 Days of PTO per Year: Take time to recharge with paid time off, accrued monthly (1.91 days/month).

  • USA Federal Holidays

Financial Benefits

  • Monthly Payment in USD: Get paid in US dollars, no matter where you are.

  • Contractor Agreement with No End Date: Enjoy the stability of a long-term contract.
