About the role

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Lifecycle Marketing Manager to execute, refine, and optimize multi-channel communications that help learners start, stick with, and succeed on DataCamp. Operating at meaningful scale (150+ automated email programs and millions of monthly sends), you’ll partner with the Director of Lifecycle Marketing on campaign strategy while fully owning flawless execution of our test‑learn‑optimize roadmap. You collaborate intensely with your team member organising, executing and optimising the adhoc campaign calendar ensuring that learnings are gathered and leveraged across both verticals with the final goal to create an outstanding user experience across all messaging channels and for a global audience which comprises enterprise, B2C, academic subscribers as well as registered users without a subscription. This is an individual contributor role with an execution‑forward remit. This is more than designing beautiful emails or writing compelling copy, we are looking for someone who understands the technical foundations behind the messaging channels and is able to scale a messaging program which meets the user where they are at while optimizing the setup for manageability and robustness.

Responsibilities

  • Optimisation of subscription rates, subscription renewal rates as well as metrics related to quality lead generation through delivering messaging which is relevant and resonates with the audience 
  • Ensure flawless campaign production with rigorous QA across builds, rendering, links, and tracking to maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Personalize at scale: use behavioral and lifecycle signals to deliver dynamic content, branching logic, and targeted eligibility rules.
  • Plan & ship lifecycle campaigns across email, mobile push, in‑app, and browser notifications for Free registered, B2C, B2B, and Academic subscribers.
  • Support the experimentation roadmap for CRM channels: build a hypothesis backlog, design A/B/n and holdout tests, document results, and translate insights into roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with the team member managing the comms calendar for weekly email newsletters and cross-channel communications; manage timing and frequency to minimize overlap and maximize impact.
  • Design and improve automated journeys across onboarding, activation, habit formation (e.g., streaks), re‑engagement/win‑back, cross‑sell/upsell, and renewal/churn prevention for registered users, as well as B2C, enterprise and academic subscribers
  • Safeguard deliverability & compliance: maintain list hygiene and monitoring; follow GDPR, CCPA, CAN‑SPAM, and PECR.
  • Leverage automation & AI: prototype low‑code automations (e.g., n8n or Make.com); use modern AI tools responsibly to accelerate copy ideation, variant generation, and analysis while upholding brand and privacy standards.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Product Marketing, Data/Analytics, Content, Brand/Design, Paid, and Sales/CS (B2B) to align audiences, messaging, and measurement.
  • Uncover opportunities in the ESP integration, data availability, and capability blockers and contribute optimising the tech stack continuously

Report weekly and monthly on the health of our automated messaging program, double-clicking unprompted on data trends and identifying growth opportunities based on data 

  • Building of AI workflows with a human in the loop, to increase efficiency while controlling for high quality and robustness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, STEM or related field.  
  • 2-3 years work experience managing automated lifecycle communication 
  • Experience with Customer.io or other email systems (Iterable, SFMC, Braze) and managing multichannel CRM campaigns.
  • Experience working with a CDP preferred 
  • Working understanding of HTML and strong knowledge on how to use Liquid for messaging personalization
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to flawless execution.
  • SQL knowledge with the ability to independently pull data and generate reports.
  • Data-driven, analytical and tech affine and proven ability to utilise AI meaningfully to optimise productivity at work
  • Strong project management - highly organized and able to efficiently coordinate multiple projects and contributors.
  • Self starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
