Job Description:

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to join our Corporate Business Technology team. This role is responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving the firm’s enterprise application architecture in alignment with our Microsoft-centric, cloud-first IT strategy. The Senior Enterprise Architect will help define architecture standards, roadmaps, governance models, and reusable patterns that connect business capabilities with scalable, secure, and integrated technology solutions.

 

This individual will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to support enterprise application strategy across platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Copilot, and ServiceNow APM/Enterprise Architecture. The role includes application portfolio management, capability mapping, rationalization efforts, and evaluation of emerging Microsoft and partner technologies to improve efficiency, integration, and long-term architectural maturity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise architecture blueprints across business, application, data, and technology domains.
  • Design integration patterns across enterprise systems using Microsoft Azure services such as API Management, Logic Apps, and related cloud capabilities.
  • Define reference architectures, reusable solution patterns, and architecture guardrails that support secure, scalable, and standardized delivery.
  • Document and maintain architecture standards, roadmaps, solution patterns, and related artifacts within ServiceNow EA/APM or similar tools.
  • Support architecture governance processes, including architecture review boards, solution approvals, and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Partner with delivery teams and stakeholders as a trusted architecture advisor, helping identify risks, dependencies, and integration challenges across platforms.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of enterprise architecture practices, maturity, and alignment with target-state roadmaps.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong experience in enterprise architecture, application architecture, or a related technology architecture discipline.
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture frameworks, with the ability to apply architecture principles in practical business and technology contexts.
  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure IaaS/PaaS, integration services, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Copilot.
  • Experience using ServiceNow APM, Enterprise Architecture modules, or comparable tools to support application portfolio management, capability mapping, and rationalization.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into capability models, architecture roadmaps, and practical technology recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and advisory skills, including the ability to communicate architecture concepts to business and technology audiences.
  • Expertise in integration architecture, cloud-native design patterns, and enterprise application modernization.
  • Experience supporting application portfolio management, rationalization, and technology standardization.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

 

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Compensation : All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position. Pay Range Min: USD $122,595.00 Pay Range Max: USD $214,510.00 Visa Sponsorship Available : No-We will not support sponsorship in the United States, i.e. H-1B or TN Visas for this position
