Engineering Manager - Regression Testing

About the Role

As we establish our India Engineering Center of Excellence (COE), we are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead the regression testing effort. You will manage, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs, set test and automation strategy for regression, own quality standards and metrics, and partner closely with other QA managers to deliver reliable, secure releases. You'll work across web, browser extension, mobile, desktop, CLI, and server components, supporting a great team and an amazing open-source community. This role is primarily for someone strong in people leadership, QA strategy and process, and quality ownership, with the technical credibility to coach engineers and make sound testing and tooling decisions.

What You Will Do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA’s: hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Set and own QA regression strategy: test strategy, quality standards, processes, and tooling direction across the team
• Define, track, and report quality metrics and KPIs, surfacing the QA health of projects to engineering leadership.
• Partner with other QA managers to define testing requirements and ensure comprehensive coverage across manual and automated efforts.
• Guide the team's balance of manual and automated testing investment, and oversee defect tracking and timely resolution.
• Partner with DevOps to integrate QA into CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive adoption of modern tooling and AI-assisted testing practices across the team.
• Stay technically credible: enough hands-on depth to coach engineers, review approaches, and make sound automation and coverage decisions.

What You'll Bring

• People leadership and team development: managing, mentoring, and growing SDETs. This includes coaching, performance, and hiring (6+ years in QA, including 3+ years managing or leading QA teams).
• QA strategy and process ownership: defining test and automation strategy as it pertains to regression testing. Quality standards, and process across the team.
• Technical credibility across manual and automated testing: enough depth to set direction, coach engineers, and make sound tooling, coverage, and automation decisions
• Metrics and stakeholder management: quality KPIs, reporting QA health to leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
• Personal fluency with AI tooling for testing/QA workflows and openness to driving its adoption (Anthropic Claude preferred).
• Should have hands-on automation background (C#/Selenium/Appium) and willingness to dive into tests or code when needed.

• Should have demonstrated experience leading AI adoption or an automation transformation across a QA team.
• Should have experience building or scaling QA processes and frameworks from a lower-maturity starting point.CI/CD ownership and integrating QA into pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).SaaS, security, identity, privacy, or developer-facing product experience.

Good to have 

• Bitwarden product/domain knowledge.
• Specific automation language or stack (C# specifically) given strong leadership and a transferable automation background.
• Specific CI/CD platform (Jenkins vs. GitLab CI vs. GitHub Actions).
• Specific test management tooling.Claude Code or similar AI coding/test-generation tools.
• Bitwarden internal architecture and the open-source contribution process.
