Job description

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Account Executive - MR in Virginia to support our fast-growing Voice (MSS) division. This role focuses on developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to local and state public safety agencies by delivering tailored, mission-critical communication technology solutions that support their operational needs.


This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the public safety professionals who serve their communities every day. Whether your experience comes from direct service in public safety or supporting the public safety market, you'll help agencies navigate evolving technology challenges and implement solutions that enhance communication, safety, and operational effectiveness.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local and state public safety agencies throughout the assigned territory. 
  • Serving as a trusted advisor by understanding operational challenges and recommending tailored communication technology solutions. 
  • Developing new business opportunities while strengthening and expanding existing customer relationships. 
  • Managing the full sales cycle, from initial customer engagement and opportunity development through closing and ongoing account growth. 
  • Collaborating across the organization to deliver exceptional customer experiences and foster long-term customer loyalty. 
  • Developing and executing territory strategies that drive revenue growth and support business objectives. 
  • Following up on leads and customer opportunities with urgency and professionalism to maximize engagement and business growth.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to effectively position MCA solutions. 
  • Advancing MCA's position as a trusted communications partner for public safety agencies across the territory.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of sales or public safety experience preferred, OR 5+ years of direct sales or public safety experience. 
  • Proven expertise in public safety, gained either through direct service (e.g., police, fire, EMS) or through sales roles focused on public safety markets.
  • Knowledge of Two-Way Radio, Land Mobile Radio, or critical communications is a plus.
  • A track record of achieving performance goals and driving measurable results.
  • Ability to build credibility with public safety stakeholders and understand operational challenges in order to recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative, service-first mindset.
  • Ability to clearly articulate product features, benefits, and value to customers.
  • Strong self-motivation and personal drive, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • High-energy, results-driven individual who takes ownership of their work, pays close attention to detail, and embraces accountability.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.

GEOGRAPHIC & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in the state of Virginia, preferably in the eastern region of Virginia.


Regular travel within the assigned territory is expected to meet with clients, attend events, and build/maintain customer relationships. Candidates must be comfortable managing their schedule and traveling independently to ensure consistent face-to-face engagement with their customer base.
