Job description

Bullhorn's core purpose is to create an incredible customer experience, and the organization has a sharp focus on delivering very high quality products and services to its customers. The company culture is shaped by five Core Values: Ownership, Energy, Speed & Agility, Service, and Being Human. Each value, and its underlying definition, serves as a behavioral guide for employees as they interact with customers and fellow coworkers and is an embedded way of operating across our organization.

Bullhorn is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where hard work and outstanding results are rewarded and celebrated. We value those that exhibit an eagerness to learn and a strong natural desire for continuous improvement and we encourage team members to stretch themselves, acknowledge challenges and learn from them. With a strong focus on growth, we provide ample opportunities for career development and prioritize promoting from within. We believe that leaders should care deeply about the development of their employees at all levels, emphasizing emotional intelligence and accountability. Our leaders collaborate closely to ensure the success of their teams, and we work together to achieve shared goals, creating a challenging and rewarding workplace for everyone.

About the Role

Bullhorn is seeking a highly accountable and results-oriented Senior Manager, Consulting to join our Professional Services leadership team. Reporting to the VP of Professional Services, this role is for cultivating a high-performance consulting culture and the leadership and development of our Strategic Consulting Team.

You will be instrumental in defining and reinforcing the value proposition of a true consultant: a subject matter expert who guides clients toward best practices. You will shift the dynamic to one where our consulting team drives efficient, repeatable processes, understands client objectives and delivers successful outcomes, and maximizes customer ROI, thereby reducing project overburn, scope creep, and customer escalations.

A typical day will include...

Strategic Consulting Team Leadership & Performance

  • Elevate the Consulting Practice: Define, set, and enforce the standard for what a Bullhorn consultant is: a subject matter expert who provides professional, opinionated, and expert advice. Coach the team to lead clients to efficient processes and Bullhorn best practices that result in improved experience and ROI.

  • Performance Management and Knowledge Strategy: Manage a team of individual contributor consultants. Hold the team accountable to key department metrics, including utilization, Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), and delivery efficiency. You will develop and execute a Strategic Knowledge Plan to resolve the imbalance of specialized knowledge, expanding cross-product expertise.

  • Performance & Growth Coaching: Move beyond simple management to performance coaching, utilizing regular 1:1s as strategic development opportunities. Instill a feedback culture focused on growth, accountability, and the elevation of consulting acumen.

  • Onboarding and Training: Own the training strategy and oversight of onboarding for new consultants, ensuring they rapidly achieve deep product and industry subject matter expertise.

  • Client Deliverables: Partner with clients to identify key business objectives and ensure the high-quality, strategic output of all client deliverables.

  • Value Realization: Ensure the team understands and communicates the ROI of their services, positioning themselves as expert guides rather than just technical resources.

  • Confidence & Ownership: Empower consultants to own client outcomes. Shift the team away from escalating all friction to management, coaching them instead to lead difficult conversations and present solutions directly to the client.

  • Solution-Oriented Delivery: Train the team to not only identify risks and problems but to immediately pair those findings with viable, expert-led solutions.

This role is a fit for you if...

  • You have 5+ years of progressive experience in professional services, implementation, or consulting, preferably within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.

  • You have 3+ years of direct experience managing a team of professional services consultants, project managers, or technical resources.

  • You have demonstrated ability to define and implement consulting methodologies that prioritize best practices, deep subject matter expertise, drive efficiency, and reduce scope creep.

  • You have exceptional leadership, coaching, and performance management skills with a strong track record of developing high-performing teams.

  • You have excellent communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to instill confidence in senior-level internal and external stakeholders.

  • You have a deep understanding of common Professional Services metrics (utilization, CSAT, efficiency).

  • You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree is a plus.

What we offer...

  • Group Critical Illness, Group Income Protection, Group Life Assurance, Pension, Vision, EAP
  • Access to our Discounts and Wellbeing Portal
  • Optional from DAY ONE - Private Medical Coverage & Ride to Work Scheme
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • Quarterly paid volunteer days
  • Lucrative Employee Referral Program (eligible for prior to your first day)
