Role: Sustainability Auditor & Verifier

Location: Istanbul, Türkiye – Field Based with frequent national travels

We have a new exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Auditor and Verifier to join us at BSI in Türkiye!

As a BSI Auditor, no two days are the same! You will be conducting independent audit and verification of our clients’ management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, as well as verification of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions accordingly to ISO 14064-1 and relevant schemes.

We see a wide range of clients, from the very small to global brands in different industry sectors, through a hybrid approach of audits both on-site and remotely. You’ll take clients through the audit/verification processes and once this is completed, you will prepare assessment reports and present your findings, ultimately helping our clients to improve.

This position will involve assessing QHSE management systems against a range industry sector. With Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) being implemented across Europe, this role will also involve in verifying our clients from aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen and iron & steel industries against the new schemes on suitability and GHG.

It is a hugely varied role with the opportunity to assessing and understanding all types of clients and you will plan your workload to make best use of your own time and maximize revenue-generating activities.

The is a field-based position in Istanbul, Türkiye, with frequent national travels and occasional international travels – please consider at least 3 days of travelling per week.

To be successful in this role, you have:

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience involving management systems in metal (iron, steel, aluminium), chemical (fertilizer, hydrogen) and/or cement productions (mandatory).
• Lead auditor training and/or third-party auditing experience in management systems certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 (mandatory).
• Third-party verification experience for GHG Schemes (i.e. ISO 14064-1 etc) (mandatory).
• Excellent mathematical and analytical capabilities, with advanced Excel knowledge and capability (mandatory).
• Assurance of sustainability report based on reporting standards such as GRI, the Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS), ESRs, and knowledge of assurance standards e.g. ISAEE 3000 and AA1000AS are highly advantageous.
• Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering are beneficial.
• Great time management and prioritisation skills, with great attention to detail and adaptability to keep up with constant changes to adapt and develop different assessment styles base on different industries and businesses.
• Excellent communication in native Turkish and business English, with client-centricity and demonstrable negotiation skills when explaining assessment findings to the management of our clients.
