Job description

We are seeking an Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) Data Integrity Team Leader to oversee daily operations of our EMPI Data Integrity team and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of patient identity data across enterprise registration, clinical, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

About the Role

In this leadership role, you will guide a team of EMPI Data Integrity Specialists responsible for resolving duplicate, overlay, overlap, mismatched, and other patient identity-related issues to support patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality care delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of EMPI Data Integrity Specialists
  • Manage daily work queues, workload distribution, and operational priorities
  • Oversee the identification, investigation, and resolution of: Duplicate patient records, Overlays and overlaps, Registration discrepancies, Patient matching and identity concerns
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex and high-risk patient identity issues
  • Drive quality assurance, audit activities, and operational performance monitoring
  • Develop and deliver training programs, SOPs, workflow documentation, and job aids
  • Collaborate with Registration, Health Information Management (HIM), Clinical Operations, Clinical Informatics, Compliance, and IT teams
  • Support system implementations, application upgrades, Epic initiatives, LexisNexis enhancements, UAT, production validations, and go-live activities
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts focused on patient matching accuracy, workflow optimization, and data integrity

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related discipline, including:

  • Medical Technology / Medical Laboratory Science
  • Nursing
  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Radiologic Technology
  • Pharmacy
  • Health Information Management
  • Other allied healthcare fields

Required Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience working with healthcare registration systems, EMPI platforms, EHRs, or HIM operations
  • 1-2 years of leadership, mentoring, coaching, or supervisory experience
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, SLA management, and workflow improvement initiatives
  • Experience within large healthcare systems or multi-facility organizations
