Job description

About the Role

We're an early-stage healthtech AI startup building a payer intelligence platform that streamlines the end-to-end payor compliance lifecycle — benefits verification, medical necessity audits, prior authorization, and appeals — for procedure-heavy specialties like Vascular Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, and Interventional Radiology.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll own the integration layer between our platform and the real-world provider and insurance systems it serves. Sitting at the intersection of our founding team and our clients, you'll translate messy healthcare workflows into clean technical solutions — building APIs, scrapers, and custom integrations that make our product fit seamlessly into each practice's stack. This is a high-ownership role where you'll ship fast, develop deep knowledge of the US healthcare landscape, and directly impact how surgical practices operate day to day.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain integrations with provider practices and insurance systems — using APIs where they exist, scrapers and RPA where they don't

  • Join client discovery sessions with founders to map real-world workflows and translate them into clear technical requirements

  • Ship custom integrations quickly and iterate based on real-world feedback

  • Contribute to the core product when integration work isn't the bottleneck

  • Develop a deep working knowledge of the US provider/payer landscape

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2–5 years of full-stack engineering experience building and shipping features end-to-end — from discovery through delivery

  • Startup background with broad ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and a track record of shipping in small teams

  • Proven experience integrating with third-party APIs

  • Proficiency in Python and FastAPI (or equivalent backend frameworks)

  • Proficiency in React and TypeScript (or equivalent frontend technologies)

  • Active use of AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) with shipped production work to show for it

  • Strong communication skills — able to clearly articulate technical problems and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience building web scrapers or RPA solutions

  • AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure experience

  • Experience building LLM features or AI applications in production (beyond coding tools)

  • Prior experience working in US healthcare or with provider/payer systems

Tech Stack: Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, Postgres, AWS, GCP, GitHub

Visa sponsorship: Not available

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $150,000 – $230,000 USD annually, depending on experience

  • Early-stage equity

  • Full-time position
