Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is hiring a
Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to help protect critical systems and patient data across a large, complex enterprise. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who wants to build and automate security capabilities — not just maintain them — in a highly regulated environment where the work actually matters.
You'll work across vulnerability management, offensive security, cloud security, secure development, and AI-enabled security tooling, partnering closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Application Development, Data, Clinical Technology, and Security Operations teams.
What You'll Do
- Lead enterprise vulnerability management across endpoints, servers, cloud, applications, databases, network infrastructure, and medical devices
- Perform application, API, network, cloud, Active Directory, and infrastructure security assessments
- Design and implement EDR/XDR, SIEM, SOAR, CSPM, identity security, and data protection platforms
- Build custom scripts, APIs, and automation to improve detection, remediation, and reporting
- Integrate security into the SDLC — threat modeling, secure coding, DevSecOps automation
- Evaluate and deploy AI-enabled security capabilities (threat detection, phishing analysis, threat hunting, incident response)
- Assess risk from emerging technologies, AI platforms, LLMs, and agentic automation
- Develop technical standards, playbooks, and runbooks; mentor junior engineers
- Build executive-level metrics showing risk reduction and program maturity
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years hands-on engineering
- Experience in healthcare, financial services, or another highly regulated industry preferred
- Offensive security experience — pentesting, adversary emulation, exploitation techniques
- Strong background in AppSec, DevSecOps, OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST/SCA
- Hands-on experience securing Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Go, Bash, or C#
- Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, HITRUST, and CIS Controls
- AI/GenAI security experience a strong plus
Preferred Certifications: CISSP, OSCP, GIAC (GPEN/GWAPT/GXPN/GCIH/GCFA), CCSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate, AWS Security Specialty
Why This Role
- Direct hire with a stable, mission-driven healthcare organization
- Fully remote
- High autonomy — you'll shape security architecture, not just execute tickets
- Exposure to cutting-edge AI-enabled security tooling
