Overview of Role/Job Purpose:
The Technical Analyst – Deployment Specialist plays a critical role within the VXcis Development organization and reports directly to the Director of Development. This position owns the coordination and execution of VXcis minor releases, patch deployments, and production emergency deployments across all environments. As VXcis continues to scale through frequent enhancements and client-driven changes, this role ensures reliable, predictable, and well- governed delivery while minimizing production risk. The Technical Analyst serves as the single point of accountability for release readiness and deployment execution, enabling development teams to remain focused on product innovation and defect resolution.
Essential Duties:
Minor Release Management
Coordinate and manage VXcis minor releases from development through deployment.
Ensure release artifacts, versioning, and documentation are complete, accurate, and traceable.
Act as the single owner accountable for minor release readiness and execution.
Maintain historical records of minor release upgrades.
Minor and Patch Release Deployments
Manage deployments of minor and patch releases to implementation environments.
Execute production deployments, ensuring all required approvals are received and documented.
Coordinate deployment timing and sequencing with development, testing, and implementation teams.
Ensure environment consistency and deployment traceability across all platforms.
Production Emergency Deployments
Own and execute production emergency deployments, including hot fixes and urgent upgrades.
Confirm, document, and maintain required approvals under emergency conditions.
Coordinate rapid response efforts while maintaining deployment controls and auditability.
Reduce mean time to deploy (MTTD) while protecting production stability.
Visibility, Governance, and Collaboration
Provide centralized visibility into release readiness, deployment schedules, and risks.
Reduce ad hoc coordination, escalations, and deployment-related disruptions.
Establish and maintain a single source of truth for release and deployment status.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience supporting software release management and environment deployments.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release processes.
Experience working in a fast-paced, release-intensive environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage high-risk deployments with attention to detail and accountability.
Strong documentation, organization, and process governance skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear status and risk visibility to technical and leadership audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing production deployments in enterprise or regulated environments.
Familiarity with version control systems, build pipelines, and deployment tooling.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Experience with IBM iSeries / AS400 environments.
Experience with MKS Integrity or similar version control tools.
Experience supporting utility or CIS platforms.
Proven ability to coordinate across development, QA, implementation, and leadership teams.
Experience handling emergency production incidents while maintaining controls and auditability.
