The Technical Product Manager (remote) will drive the strategy, development, and execution of technical products from ideation through launch and beyond. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and product management skills to oversee complex technical products and collaborate effectively with engineering teams. In a healthcare payer context, the TPM ensures solutions meet CMS, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements while delivering business value.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Management
    • Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies for technical products and services.
    • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to development, launch, and ongoing optimization.
    • Define product requirements, specifications, and roadmaps in collaboration with engineering teams.
    • Ensure products meet market needs, are developed within budget and on schedule.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders through clear communication.
    • Translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
    • Work closely with engineering teams using Agile methodologies and development processes.
    • Evaluate technical feasibility and make data-driven product decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with engineering, design, operations, compliance, and vendor teams.
    • Lead product planning sessions and sprint reviews.
    • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Coordinate product launches and go-to-market strategies.
  • Market & Customer Focus
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive product improvements.
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success.
    • Ensure products solve real customer problems and deliver business value.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Required: 5+ years of product management or business analyst experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Preferred: Specific healthcare payer experience.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting Medicare STARS, HEDIS, and healthcare quality programs within a health plan or healthcare payer organization

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

• Preferred: MBA or advanced degree.

Specialized Skills:

• Required:

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and data validation.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Microsoft SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Understanding of APIs, databases, and modern development stacks.
  • Knowledge of EDI standards and file protocols (HIPAA 837/835/820).
  • Experience with product management tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Vendor management and SLA performance oversight.
  • Ability to communicate positively, professionally and effectively with others; provide leadership, teach and collaborate with others.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to establish and maintain a constructive relationship with diverse members, management, employees and vendors;
  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to perform mathematical calculations and calculate simple statistics correctly
  • Reasoning Skills:  Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; advanced problem-solving; ability to use advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement and manage appropriate resolution.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:  Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Report Analysis Skills:  Comprehend and analyze statistical reports.

This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be available to work Pacific Time meetings regularly to support business operations, and stakeholder meetingsregularly

Pay Range: $113,332.00 - $169,999.00

Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
