Who Gives A Crap

Cleaning & Household Products

We are one of the fastest-growing eCommerce businesses in Australia (and now the US and UK too!). More than that, we’re one of the country’s fastest-growing social businesses. Who Gives a Crap sells beautiful, forest friendly toilet paper, paper towels and tissues and we donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets for those in need. As much as we love toilet paper, the reason we’re in business is the impact we’re having on the world—To date, Who Gives A Crap has donated over $8 million Aussie dollars to our charity partners, WaterAid, Sanergy, Lwala Community Alliance and Shining Hope For Communities, iDE and WaterSHED. The more innovative the solutions our partners can unlock, the quicker we can help build toilets for the 2 billion people who don’t have them. We have a fully distributed business with all team members working remotely (i.e. from home or a co-working space) most of the time. We currently operate in six time zones with team members across four continents... and we’re just getting started. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences is what makes a strong team. The stronger our team, the closer we are to our mission – toilets and clean water for all. So come join us! We're looking for people of all genders, races, ethnicities, orientations, abilities and disabilities to come sit at our table. The only thing we're a stickler on is species – you have to be a person.

Funny name, serious business

We are a leading eco-friendly household essentials business and we donate 50% of our profits to help everyone gain access to clean water and a toilet. As of June 2026, we’ve contributed over $20 million AUD to this mission. Basically, we’re really good at making it easy to do good.

We’re scaling our business across the UK, US, Australia and Canada, with our amazing team spread across these markets. Our 250+ people aim to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next 5-10 years, we’re hoping to increase our annual donation tenfold to get us closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation services.

A bit about the role

We’re looking for a Creative Director to lead our Marketing Design team (the people behind our limited editions, brand campaigns, social, lifecycle and promotions). You’ll set the creative bar across two quite different worlds: the big, ambitious brand storytelling that makes people fall for us, and the fast creative work, informed by data, that keeps our growth engine humming. You’ll lead two senior designer/art directors directly, and a wider team of makers day to day, coaching them to do the best work of their careers while keeping plenty of moving parts on track. Expect to spend around 70% of your time on creative direction and 30% hands-on, stepping into the work yourself during big campaign moments.

If you worked here this past month here are some things you might have been involved in:

  • Led a limited edition from concept through packaging development to full campaign rollout
  • Steered the social team toward content that’s culturally sharp, fun and unmistakably on-brand
  • Pushed the lifecycle team to create emails people actually want to open
  • Overseen a high-growth promotion from creative concept to launch
  • Coached your two senior designer/art directors through a tricky brief or a bit of creative friction

Let’s talk about you

You’ve led both sides of the coin

You’ve genuinely led both brand storytelling and growth-led creative. Or, you’ve led one and have real curiosity about the other. You know these two worlds need different thinking, different pace and different leadership, and you can flex between them without losing the plot.

You’re organised, not just talented

Big ideas are the baseline here, but so is a genuinely high level of self-motivation, proactivity and organisation. If you thrive only with a lot of structure built around you, this probably isn’t your role, but if you can bring your own structure to ambiguity, you’ll do well.

You’re a self-starter with real creative ambition

You’re fast-paced, comfortable with a bit of chaos and you have the energy to see your ideas through to the finish line (and to bring your team along with you while you do it).

You give a crap. Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence, us too!

Why should you work with us?

First off, as a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the high standards of social and environmental impact. We’re in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world.

We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that’s why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare for our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right).

Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that our team is really proud (over 90%) to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn’t be more proud of that.

Have you made it this far?

If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.
