POSITION SUMMARY


The Credentialing Specialist’s role is to administratively support management and office staff members of Premier Imaging Ventures (PIV) with credentialing which contains a broad scope of duties and responsibilities. The individual will be required to exercise judgment, self-starting and organizational skills, advanced diplomacy, and superior identification and resolution skills.


*20 hours per week*


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Quality & Organizational Effectiveness, ensuring effective communication and follow-up on key initiatives.
  • Conduct research and compile data to support credentialing and quality assurance activities; provide recommendations and solutions for related issues.
  • Assist with the full credentialing lifecycle for physicians, including initial appointments and reappointments, ensuring all required documentation is collected, verified, and maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and all applicable federal, state, and licensing regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records and databases, ensuring documentation is survey-ready at all times. 
  • Support preparation for accreditation surveys and maintain required documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay current on credentialing standards and regulatory changes, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all physician and credentialing information.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Promote a positive, professional, and service-oriented environment in all interactions with staff, physicians, and external partners.
  • Support teamwork and collaboration across departments, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, attendance expectations, and compliance requirements, including safety and workplace programs.
  • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development activities.
Requirements

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS 

  • Strong understanding of credentialing processes, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC) guidelines.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Proactive mindset with initiative to improve administrative processes and support functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prepare, maintain, and audit records and reports with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with physicians, hospital staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in credentialing, healthcare administration, or a related administrative support role preferred 
  • Willingness and flexibility to perform a wide range of duties as assigned.
