Nexaminds is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and seamless integration across distributed backend services. You'll design and maintain automated test frameworks, validate REST APIs, perform database testing, and ensure complex end-to-end workflows meet business and technical requirements.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a QA Automation Engineer, with a focus on backend and API automation.
  • Strong programming skills in Java or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with API automation tools and frameworks such as Postman, Rest Assured, or Pytest.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for backend validation, data integrity checks, and schema verification.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, JSON/XML payloads, and response status codes.
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites for API response validation, business logic, and integration flows.
  • Experience testing complex, multi-service workflows across distributed architectures.
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and management tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with developers, DevOps, and product teams

Job duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for REST APIs, validating response schemas, status codes, business logic, and data accuracy.
  • Perform advanced SQL-based database validation to ensure backend data matches API responses and business expectations.
  • Execute end-to-end tests across multiple services and integration points to ensure system reliability.
  • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios aligned with product requirements.
  • Identify, document, track, and re-test defects in collaboration with development teams.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to identify quality risks and improve testing strategies.
  • Maintain and improve automated testing frameworks and best practices.
  • Contribute to regression testing, integration testing, and overall test coverage.
  • Support continuous improvement of QA processes and engineering quality standards.

Nice to have:

  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or K6.
  • Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with automated testing in microservices and distributed systems.
