Brief Description

The Sr. Manager, Sales Operations position provides strategic and operational support for UBC sales operations, including oversight and management of the technology stack, sales process development, training, lead tracking from prospecting through award, and comprehensive reporting of sales and marketing influence on the UBC pipeline. This position is expected to go beyond responding to stakeholder requests by proactively identifying business needs, interpreting data, and providing strategic guidance and actionable recommendations to improve sales effectiveness, pipeline visibility, and go-to-market execution. The role supports critical strategies across, Outside Sales, Marketing, and lead generation functions.


Specific Job Duties:

  • Build and maintain scalable data models, dashboards, and analytical tools to support data-driven decision making across the organization
  • Manage the full sales analytics process, including data sourcing, cleaning, exploration, modeling, and validation
  • Partner with senior team members to shape recommendations for new technology platforms, data sources, and infrastructure enhancements that advance UBC’s commercial strategy.
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models to forecast trends, performance, and drive sales optimization
  • Apply advanced modeling approaches, such as knowledge graphs, to integrate diverse data sources (e.g. claims, EHR, wholesaler, etc.) and uncover hidden relationships for better decision support
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI tools to enhance analytical capabilities
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership
  • Ensure adherence to lead generation process and hand-offs between marketing, inside sales, outside sales are understood and actioned accordingly to drive pull through from all three teams’ efforts to maximize the return on investment of these functional roles to the organization.
  • Align with marketing to ensure database segmentation and supplemental contact sourcing is reviewed regularly to support ongoing sales and marketing initiatives and maintain accuracy of the lead gen measurement strategy.
  • Maintain body of information to inform the status, health, and trends pertaining to the sales pipeline and results.
  • Support key body of demand generation package information to inform management, operations, sales, and marketing.
  • Enhance lead generation performance dashboards to inform management and sales functions of a wide range of performance to ‘see and run’ the business with information/evidence on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Support the maintenance of an experience database serving as the single source of truth to house key UBC projects over the past five years (e.g., proof points/claims) to inform marketing, business development, and proposal initiatives.
  • Serve as SME for sales and marketing technology stack.
  • Ensure quality of technology delivery of multiple vendors’ technology solutions for multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Lead efforts to develop standard practices, components, and guidelines for use of integrated technology platforms.
  • Support root-cause analysis for demand generation and sales operations challenges, recommend strategic solutions, and drive resolution through cross-functional alignment.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5 – 8 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree and 3 – 5 years of relevant experience; 
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the sales and marketing field
  • Expert/advanced with Salesforce (customer relationship management - CRM).
  • Content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation platforms.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Solutions are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, identify improvement opportunities, and advise stakeholders rather than only fulfilling defined requests.
  • Ability to lead discussions with all levels of the organization, challenge assumptions constructively, and provide balanced, strategic guidance on complex issues through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with clinical research, healthcare, life sciences, or PBM industries
  • Familiar with working in a vendor partner model
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines
  • Strong mentoring skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines
  • Adaptability and willingness to evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools and platforms
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
  • Demonstrated team collaboration experience
  • Minimal travel (<25%) may be required
