Responsible

1) In-Process Manufacturing Inspection

  • Perform routine in-process inspections at established quality gates and throughout production.

  • Focus inspections on critical-to-quality characteristics, high-risk assembly operations, workmanship concerns, historical defect trends, known failure modes, and hidden defects that may be obscured by later assembly steps.

  • Evaluate manufacturing readiness, process compliance, and production break-ins for new products, changes, and corrective actions.

2) Change and Deviation Verification

  • Verify implementation and effectiveness of Change Requests (CRs), deviations, temporary work instructions, corrective actions, and manufacturing process changes.

  • Confirm removal of obsolete material, operator awareness and training, traceability, and proper execution of updated manufacturing requirements.

  • Increase inspection frequency during production break-ins until process stability is demonstrated.

3) Manufacturing Quality Assessment

  • Inspect product and process quality across key manufacturing areas, including: Fabrication: dimensional compliance, hole locations, bend accuracy, material condition.

  • Welding: weld quality, penetration, structural weld integrity, porosity, cracks, lifting point welds

  • Coating / Surface Finish: powder coat coverage, coating thickness, corrosion protection, cosmetic appearance

  • Mechanical Assembly: hardware installation, washer stack-ups, torque verification, fit-up, door alignment

  • Water Ingress Prevention: gaskets, sealants, cable entries, roof penetrations, drain paths

  • Electrical Installation: cable routing, wire segregation, grounding, labeling, connectors, fire-rated cable installation, CAT6a shielding requirements

  • Regulatory Compliance: NEC labels, UL labels, safety labels, nameplates, and serial traceability.

4) Pre-Shipment Inspection and Product Release Readiness

  • Execute formal pre-shipment inspections using approved Fluence inspection checklists and current risk-based inspection criteria.

  • Verify product completeness, mechanical and electrical assembly, torque verification status, water ingress controls, grounding and bonding, labeling, cosmetic condition, open NCR/deviation status, and documentation completeness.

  • Ensure no product is released without completion of the required quality checklist or approved quality disposition.

5) Defect Documentation and Reporting

  • Document defects, observations, process deficiencies, and potential quality risks using approved systems and records such as NCRs, Procore, photos/video, and presentations.

  • Capture issue description, affected part/serial numbers, quantities, supporting evidence, and potential impact.

  • Identify both actual defects and precursor conditions that could lead to future escapes.

6) Escalation and Risk Communication

  • Promptly escalate product safety concerns, regulatory risks, structural integrity issues, fire protection deficiencies, missing grounding, incorrect polarity, missing critical labels, repetitive escapes, or other significant manufacturing risks to the Quality Manager.

  • Route all findings, concerns, and observations through established Fluence quality reporting channels rather than independently directing systemic corrective action at the site.

  • Support leadership reviews by providing accurate inspection findings, risk summaries, and supporting evidence.

7) Site Compliance and Professional Conduct

  • Obtain required site visit approvals before reporting to a CM, supplier, warehouse, or project site.

  • Coordinate visits through the approved CM Travel Schedule and align inspection activities with business priorities and manufacturing milestones.

  • Follow site safety requirements, confidentiality rules, photography restrictions, and professional conduct expectations while representing Fluence on-site.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, factory inspection, or industrial production environments.

  • Ability to inspect mechanical, electrical, fabricated, and assembled products in a manufacturing setting.

  • Working knowledge of inspection methods, workmanship standards, manufacturing drawings, change control, and defect documentation.

  • Familiarity with torque verification, assembly inspection, welding/coating inspection, regulatory labeling, and quality system reporting tools is preferred.

  • Ability to recognize risk, assess manufacturing compliance, and escalate issues clearly and professionally.

Core Competencies

  • Risk-based decision making

  • Attention to detail and defect recognition

  • Process compliance verification

  • Root-cause awareness and preventive mindset

  • Clear written documentation and reporting

  • Professional communication with internal and external manufacturing teams

  • Objectivity, independence, and sound judgment

  • Confidentiality and safety discipline
