We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Residential Property Solicitor to join an established multi-practice area firm. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, provide clear and practical legal advice to clients and contribute to the continued development of the residential property team. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, estate agents, lenders and other professionals to progress transactions efficiently while maintaining high standards of technical work, compliance and client care.
Location: Fully remote. Typical PQE: 5 years.
Salary Β£45,000 - Β£55,000 + bonus + excellent benefits
Key responsibilities:
Manage a varied caseload of residential property matters from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, new-build transactions and shared ownership matters.
Provide clear, commercially aware and practical legal advice to clients, explaining transaction requirements, risks, timescales and available options in an accessible manner.
Draft, review and negotiate contracts, reports on title, transfer documents, leases, deeds, enquiries, replies and other residential property documentation.
Review title documentation, property searches, leases, management information packs, planning documents and replies to enquiries, identifying and addressing legal and practical issues.
Liaise effectively with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, lenders, other solicitors, managing agents, developers and Land Registry to progress transactions and resolve issues.
Manage exchange and completion processes, ensuring all contractual conditions, lender requirements, undertakings and post-completion obligations are satisfied accurately and within agreed timescales.
Prepare and submit applications to HM Land Registry and deal with requisitions, SDLT returns.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive matter records, provide regular updates to clients and manage files efficiently in accordance with firm procedures and service standards.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff in a remote working environment, contributing to the development of team processes, precedents and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Key skills and experience:
Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with approximately 5 yearsβ post-qualification experience in residential property or conveyancing.
Strong practical experience of managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and new-build transactions.
Sound knowledge of residential property law, conveyancing procedures, Land Registry requirements, leasehold issues and SDLT processes.
Excellent legal drafting, analytical and negotiation skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Client-focused approach with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, manage expectations and provide a responsive service throughout the transaction.
