Riverside Overview: Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems.    All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.   Position Overview:

Riverside Research is looking for a candidate to provide Embedded RF systems support for a single fixed length project. We are seeking an engineer with strong embedded RF experience focused on Wi‑Fi packet analysis, routing behaviors, and low‑level networking. This role involves developing, testing, and optimizing firmware and embedded systems associated with wireless communication devices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on lab experience working with embedded RF equipment and be able to realize RF concepts in low level code.  

Responsibilities:
  • Working within a team of professionals to further the development of low-level network communication protocols and security features.
  • Devising solutions to comply with strict operational guidelines and limitations.
  • Conceptualize, design, and execute network test scenarios.
  • Develop and implement embedded networking protocol features across the entire software stack.
  • Reverse Engineer and modify existing embedded devices.
Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in software/RF engineering with a focus on wireless communications
  • Proficient in low level programming languages such as C/C++ or Rust
  • Proficient in scripting or automation in Python or Bash
  • Experience with Linux Systems and Embedded environments
  • Strong understanding of computer networks and networking protocols
  • Familiar with software version control systems (git)
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a clearance in the future as needed

Desired:

  • Experience with ESP32 development
  • Familiarity with software defined radios
  • Experience reverse engineering IOT devices
Global Comp: $30.00- $35.00/hr This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
