As a Senior Commerce & Digital Consultant, you will act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, helping clients define, implement, and optimize their digital commerce and omnichannel strategies.
You will work with business and technology stakeholders to shape transformation initiatives, improve customer experiences, and drive commercial performance. In this role, you'll combine strategic thinking, consulting expertise, and a strong understanding of digital ecosystems to deliver measurable business outcomes.
You will also contribute to the growth of Valtech's Commerce & Digital practice through thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and support of business development activities.

What you'll be doing

Drive commerce and digital transformation initiatives

  • Analyze business challenges related to digital commerce, omnichannel experiences, customer experience, and commercial performance.
  • Define and recommend digital commerce strategies, transformation roadmaps, operating models, and target-state visions.
  • Advise clients on improving customer journeys, transactional processes, and digital engagement models.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops and stakeholder alignment sessions.
  • Translate business goals into measurable initiatives focused on revenue growth, conversion optimization, customer retention, and business value realization.

Deliver high-quality consulting engagements

  • Support the design and implementation of Commerce & Digital solutions across eCommerce, CMS, CRM, CDP, Search, and related platforms.
  • Partner with architects, product teams, and technical specialists to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.
  • Help prioritize initiatives and strategic backlogs based on business value.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to acquisition, conversion, average order value, retention, and customer lifetime value.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and generate measurable business impact.

Enable adoption and organizational change

  • Support change management and adoption initiatives for digital commerce platforms and processes.
  • Contribute to governance models, operational frameworks, and best practices.
  • Help clients build internal capabilities and foster a performance-oriented culture.

Contribute to practice growth and innovation

  • Develop expertise across leading commerce and digital platforms and ecosystems.
  • Share knowledge, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
  • Contribute to accelerators, assets, value propositions, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in digital commerce.

Collaborate and mentor

  • Support and mentor junior consultants and team members.
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across business, product, design, and technology.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and delivery excellence.

Support business development

  • Identify opportunities to expand Commerce & Digital services with existing and prospective clients.
  • Contribute to proposals, scoping activities, and client presentations.
  • Help strengthen Valtech's market positioning and commerce consulting capabilities.

Must have qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in digital commerce, eCommerce consulting, digital strategy, or digital transformation.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end commerce, omnichannel, or customer experience initiatives within consulting, agency, or professional services environments.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of digital commerce ecosystems, including eCommerce platforms, CMS, CRM, CDP, OMS, and Search solutions.
  • Experience developing digital strategies, transformation roadmaps, and operating models.
  • Ability to translate business needs into functional and technology requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of customer experience (CX), customer journeys, and conversion optimization principles.
  • Experience leveraging data, metrics, and KPIs to guide decision-making and measure success.
  • Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and discovery capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams spanning business, product, and technology disciplines.
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence senior client stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities.
  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Passion for innovation and emerging digital commerce trends.
  • Fluent English and French, both written and spoken.

The benefits  

This is a full-time position based in Montreal and Toronto. The offered salary range is $90,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and location. 

Valtech offers a comprehensive benefits package effective after three months of continuous service:

  • A comprehensive insurance plan, where you can choose the module that best suits your needs—Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The employer may contribute up to 80% of your coverage depending on the selected module. This plan includes short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Dialogue via Sun Life provides virtual healthcare services, allowing you to consult with a healthcare professional for emergencies, prescription renewals, and more. You also have access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program, as well as a complete mental health support program.
  • A $500 Personal Spending Account, which can be used for healthcare reimbursements, gym memberships, public transit passes, office supplies, or contributions to your RRSP through Valtech.
  • A retirement plan where Valtech will match 100% of your RRSP contributions through a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), up to a maximum of 4%. You can start contributing to your RRSP immediately, and to the DPSP after 3 months. The vesting of the DPSP will be after a 24 months of service. 
  • Access to a flexible vacation under Valtech's policy to support your work-life balance, with 5 days available during your probation period and a prorated amount calculated for the remainder of the year.
  • Personal Technology Reimbursement – $30/month for every employee-offered on day 1. 
  • We close during the winter holidays and offer flexible scheduling throughout the year, so you can enjoy those sunny Friday afternoons—provided your weekly hours are completed.
